Hallo everybody,

I hope this issue will have an coherence to the anomalous credit issue and can be fixed soon.

So I have about 800k credits (mayby 650k without the anomalous credits issue) but suddenly there are only about 500 (not 500k).
Does anybody have the same Problem?

Kind regards Mathias

I went from over 100k a few days ago before running a few computers for a few days on this project and now I'm down to 16k !

Am I not suppose to be going up in score?

This project is broken and should be removed from the DC-Vault list immediately !!

Hi

We are really sorry for the inconvenience. Your will receive your credits back as soon as possible. We are still resetting the whole credits.

EDIT: This may take one or two days. Please be patient. We do understand that you want to have your credits back.

Thanks

I'm sure we can all be patient. Thanks for the prompt reply.
Just wanted the project admins to realize that these issues have ramifications outside of the project itself.

I went suddenly from 159,939 to a mere 63 credits, and I have not received one single anomalous WU

As you can read here, we have now stopped to export statistics to third party sites.

This afternoon (now) I came in to look at my various project credit movement, since the problem of the unusually high (x 10) credit gifting. This made me look good, giving credits for about 1 in 10 of my work units I crunched. Indeed I seemed to be progressing, as a result of this problem, at a if I had multiple GPUs on this project.

After looking at the reported total credit (3,380 CS), I was quite shocked to see the loss of credit which appeared to be arbitrary and sudden. But, before I tore out my hair I need to see if there was an explanation, which I find in this thread.

When I recommenced Malaria Control, after a few months on Einstein, my Malaria total credit was 773,156. This rose rapidly, when the intermittent WUs were given high credit (x10) than normal. This seem to rise, after running for 3 days, and was then corrected drastically downwards yesterday (I think). My credit, according to BOINCStats 12.00 pm (UTC) update was 925,989 CS. This was the figure my credit was adjusted down to from about 2.75million.

I am pleased to see I am not the only one to have vast numbers of credit removed. I am also pleased to see that the Project Admin has acknowledged the issue, and will be restoring the results in the next few days.

I look forwards to the credit restoration, and will continue to pound out the results with 4 quads.

I thought I would put down a marker like some other crunchers have.

Yep, I've been taken all the way down to 67. After crunching the project for the past week, I am now -188 credits from where I started.. After the wildly fluctuating credit, I don't even know what to expect when a correction comes or how it will be decided what the correction will be.

On some projects, on the task list, it lists what the host is requesting for credits. It isn't displayed here, but if it exists in the data returned, perhaps that can be used. My understanding, though, is that that favors Windows computers because of the way boinc measures benchmarks for Windows and Linux computers. Could awarding credit based on the higher requested be a method? Since the wu's are different sizes, I don't think credit per task can be used. How about credit based on the size of a task?

How will the corrections be measured?

Yes! See here for a full explanation and what is being done by the Project Admins to resolve it!

That's a link to the top of this thread. Or, at least, that's where it's sending me.

I too lost credits, 4,808,534 of them! I do not see how not sending info to the stats sites is helping but I guess at least the stats sites aren't getting bad info any longer! Someone needs to go back to school and learn how one thing is ALWAYS related to another in programming! Someone also needs to do more testing before they go messing with a gagillion accounts!

I had 4054 Credits, no one of the anomalous high credit WUs. My credits are now castrated down to 451. I don't understed why. I hope this will be corrected soon.

It is a "work in progress" situation. I have lost more credit than was awarded by the dodgy wu, I expect it will work out in the end.

Hopefully we've managed to fix this today. Note though that the RAC numbers take a while to change, so the top contributors pages still looks rather weird.

Everything's fine again, besides RAC.
