Well today was sort of nice out on the porch this morning but the smoke is rolling in as the wind is very slack. I was out from 6ish til now. Had to start putting up my stringers for the tomatoes to grow up, only as i have so many more this year i did them a little differently. Hopefully i can sort of build a net around them and keep all of them growing straight up and spread out. Las year I only had three stringers and all the plants had to sort of be trained to grow up one of those so there was no depth to them, only width, kind of like 2D and now i'm going for a 3D plan.

Been working on my todo list. I need to shut everything down so i can work on changing some usb cables, add fan power plugs inline between the psu and the dvd drive so i can power more fans and work on the thermal exhaust port, then i need to work on powering up the fifth element of the warp kore and see if i can get that online. I need to do some testing on the thermal exhaust prot with the more powerful fans and see if that helps, then think about the design to add more intake ports, i need 1 each for the 3 older computers and 2 each for the i7's, one on the cpu liquid kooler radiator and one by the 3 gpu's and maybe one more each on the twins on the oposite side by thier cpu's. I want to suck in as much heat as possible and vent it out through the porthole i made in the window and it all needs to go through one continious vent. if the more powerful fans help then i'll go buy more boxes and hose as at the moment i only have two boxes. Only i just don't feel like powering off just now, i've got a bad feeling about this.

Maybe some more software tunning first.

Forecast today is not clean.

Decided to put komputer stuff off for a while.

Went back out to porch to plant some more seeds. I had forgot to put the lettuce in. Then moved some white potatoes to a bigger pot and put some more in a second pot. Planted some Oleander seeds in four more pots and threw some down also in the ground around the other trees in the ground at the base of the stairs.

Then being a nice day as the smoke ahd cleared away, not a hint of it in the air. I set out to paint my dirt and water buckets. Those are the free omnes i got from recycling but they had painted wording on them in yellow, black and blue. Not extremely attractive. so I had found this old can of paint at work. It was in the unit when we moved in 11 years ago and the store that was there before us had been there 3 or 4 years. It was still good, sort of. It needed some heavy duty mixing. I got it mixed but it was still thick as snot. Actually that worked to my advantage, as one coat covered over any color on the buckets. When i spray painted some before a darker primer gray, it took 2 or 3 passes to get the words covered up. This stuff glided on and covered blue, black, yellow and even the dark primer gray in one pass. It also is a lighter stone gray, almost matches lots of the pots i got. I only painted the outsides from the lower rims to the bottom, so the tops and insides are still white. they look pretty good and also as the house is white sort of blend in.

Then it was time for a shower to was lots of dirt and paint off. It is no fun unless you get some of that everywhere. Good thing it was latex paint and a bar of lava soap cleans it up nicely.

Also too it is a nice hot day, although the buckets are drying in the shade but it is nicely breezy today so they are getting some fresh air blowing on them to dry them up. The hardest one was the 100lb bucket full of water. It holds 100lbs of dry goods that came in it, i think it must be about 15 gallons which would be about 45 pounds of water. I din't want to empty any of them and waste the water. I have four that size, one for water and three for soil. one is empty as I ran out of new soil. the other two I use as remix buckets but since I just did a lot of planting they are only about 1/4 full. Then there is a tool bucket and 6 water buckets up to 6 gallons, but the were all empty. i use them to katch rain, if it ever rains again. I also have lids for all the big buckets and a few of the small ones. when I first got some I didn't take the lids, then i realized I can store water in them and cap them off, so i went back and got some more. They often have some but a lot of times none as they are a popualr item people pick up. The lady there sets them aside jsut for that reason. Often too there are a lot of square ones from cat stuff, but I don't like the sqaure ones. A lot of people use them for palnters, you can double stack them and make some kind that holds water in the bottom with a fill tube. I guess you have to cut the holes in the second one. I ask my roomate as he does that and also uses them as fishing buckets. I msotly use them as gardening use.

Well gee now that i'm all klean i can't do any more work today. I guess its time for some RUM and Kola as tomoorow is not a W&%k day I can have some extra today.

Keith not to be too picky but water weighs 8.3 pounds per gallon! Fireman learn that kind of stuff early on, sorry. So you are stronger than you think you are, your 15 gallons actually weighs 124.5 POUNDS!!

Keith is your floor fan noisy when it runs? I was sitting here thinking about your setup...you could run a duct to one side of the floor fan and then duct the exhaust out the window. You would no longer have multiple power lines or fans or whatevers running everywhere, just one fan and some duct work. If you use your dryer vent thingys in reverse you could even regulate how much air each scavenges from each pickup point. You may end putting the exhaust fan nearer the window, on a shelf maybe just to keep the duct work down. But if you exhaust the air out the window most of the noise should go out with it.

Told you I was going to be mischevious today.

First I was working on a computer inventory. i have most all items I own saved as small pictures, like the ones on shopping websites. So today I decided to organize them into folders. One master and one folder for each computer, so i can tell what should be where and what is spares.

Anyway I I was working I kept seeing all my HDDs. I have been thinking how to give the new i7s a separate HDD for BOINC, as of now it is running on one of the new drives that is to be a backup drive. I was going to pull one set of 1TB drives out of the twins and use those. A little overkill for my boinc needs, but i could use it for extra backups too. But i don't quite want to pull those apart yet. Even thou I copied all the data over, i want to be sure everything is fine before erasing those or using them for something else. So I was thinking how to reuse some older drives in the spares cabinet.

Some time ago i had one of the external usb drives fail. Since at the time it was out of warranty i decided to pull it apart, only to find it was an segate sata drive with a usb adapter board stuck on. When i tested the drive directly in a computer without the interface it worked. So i then pulled apart another external drive and i stuck both of those hdds only in the twins as they worked faster as sata drives than usb/sata drives. Later I bought a pair of LP sata drives and added those to the twins, that is how they now each have 2 sata 1TB drives, which were my data and backup drives.

I have no other spare sata drives on the shelf that i know of...

So i was looking at some now spare ide 250GB drives on the shelf. I could stick one each of those in the i7s and attach them on the ide cable along with the dvd drive there. I also have some Y power splitters so an extra 4 pin power socket is no problem.

BUT then i found some more older external usb drives. Being mischevious I took one apart and it is the same way, a seagate sata hdd stuck into a sata to usb adapter. These are 500GB sata 3GBps drives and they use less power than the ide drives so i'm gonna use these for my boinc drives. I have 6 blank sata ports still on the i7s which are on a separate channel from the other two channels in use. I'd rather have boinc on a seperate drive so when it burns it out I only loose boinc and not a bunch of other stuff. Might as well use these as i paid for them at one time.

I could go either way.

I may keep the ide's free as there are two more in the cabinet and with 4 I could make those into a raid array and i think there are 4 more 250 ide drives in another box, so 8 total.

I still have the good usb enclosures if i ever want to use those, or use them to test drives without power down a system i can use the sata-usb adapter in them.

I can't put too may drive in the older twins, 4 sata max and one of those is the main drive. They already have 3 each.
The New I7's already have 4 sata each, Main drive is morrored on a sata channel at 3GBs. My data drive and a spare i'll use as a backup is on another channel at 6Gbs, and that still leaves me 6 other sata ports on a third channel at 3GBs. Then there are some usb 2.0, 3.0 and eSata ports. I've got plenty of room to grow. The the second unit has the same setup and the data drive on it will be a backup of the first computer also with a back drive of it. Again i'll have 1 main data drive and 3 copies.
I'm not sure what i'll do with the twin's drives. once i'm satisfied all my data is safe then they can be reused, but for now they are as standby backups in case something didn't copy over correctly. There are 4 copies there in reserve.
I decided to put the boinc drives in as the 250GB eide drives, only because watching the boinc load on the other drive, it is really low. The eided drive shopuld be able to handle it. Also too where i need to sit the drive on top of the dvd, the other conenctor is right there and it would be easy to add a Y pwoer splitter there too. If I go sata i've got to add another harness on the psu and then have 3 more extra sata power connectors in the way as the harness has sets of four. It is pretty crowed already. Additionally that leaves me the two 500GB sata drive to use for something else or to use as replacements for main drives in older computers should one be needed. I seems the best use of hardware all around leaving me some spares of each type.
I may get to some hardware changes during the week but maybe just wait for the next weekend.
I've also got pwoer to spare as i put in 1200W psus. The max i've seen is about 850W and that is rtunnign the 3 gpu's at about full pwoer. It varies 700W is more typical, sometimes spikes closer to 800W. It depends on what projects are running. The ati seems to run at about 97% load always. The nviida vary between 50 and 99% depending on the project, unless the queue dries up and there is no work .

Oh this is funny. I spent half an hour the other day trying to figure out why the nvidia gpu's in one machine had no load, then after that i realized boinc ran out of cuda work. I thought i saw some in there, but it was all 'ready to report' not 'ready to run'.

Network traffic is usually light, 0.01% per machine.

CPU usage is about 65%, running 7 boinc cpu projects, plus whatever the gpu's take and .01 for WUpoop.

Memory usage varies between about 34% and 75%. I've got some busy stuff going on when 9GB memory is in use!, I haven't seen any page file activity which is what i want. Keep it in RAM !

I like these windows seVen gadgets, ok they suck down some processor time (but hey, i got a 12 core jsut so i had spare power), i'm showing sidebar uses 1.4%, but i think they are kool and worth it. I've got 12 of them running so i can watch everything going on in percentage, graphs and temps. HDD activity, CPU, Memory, BOINC, Network traffic, 1 each for each of the 3 GPUs, Top Processes, Uptime and Power drain. Kool thing i guess over vista, is they don't have to be in a 'sidebar', they can be anywhere on the desktop.

i'm burned out from a peperwork overlaod today. My boss can be an idiot sometimes. Friday morning he gave me soem paperwork and i commented i hope that was all of it becuase come Tuesday I would be very busy for the end of the mnoth. He didn't give me much else on Friday, that is why i left early. So today he gives me a hole bunch he had been saving up for several days before Friday. Between that and a lot of internet orders, i did not get all the paperwork done for the end of the month, and when 5pm came i gave up.

And when in the morning he asked me how many internet orders I had, I said a few it was not a busy weekend, but then come 3pm there were twice that many for him to take to the post office, he said where did all the orders come from ? It is the internet, it operates 24/7. He can't figure that out, they do not come in at aset time. Orders kept coming in all day and two more came in after he left ready for me to start on tomorrow.

So sales are krazy. i hit 206% of the average of last years monthly sales. It was the best month this year and 2nd best month in total. Dollar sales i'm at 54% of last years, i should be at 50% by the end of june and i've already beat that 1 month ahead of schedule ! Also physical numebr of orders, i had 339 last year, this year so far i'm at 324, plus 2 more for tomorrow so i'll beat the order number 7 months early ! I'm sure i'll beat the dollar total before the end of the year at this rate. I need to reorder some stuff but i've been so busy i can't even make a list, much less even think about it. And i had little time to add more items, only getting 28 more on this month instead of the 100 or more of previous months.

The older twins P4's have a 0.33 day cache i think, so they keep relativly low work ready to go. Becuase i have a number of projects if one runs out, it has lots of backup choices. I'm only running 1 cpu and 1 gpu in those. They have like a dozen or less tasks on the tasks page.

The i7's I have a 3.33 day cache since they have 7 cpus and 2 or 3 gpus running but i may scale that back. There is some malaria in there but also too i have like 31 projects attached, so there is a good mix. I also have the network suspend between 5pm and 11pm which is my primary time to do netflix streaming, so the i7's don't hog my bandwidth. I also wanted them to have enough fuel for a 3-day weekend siege should some projects or internet problems develop somewhere. At one count they had like 600 plus tasks in all stages on the tasks page.

mc.d has a high resource share, the others have lower shares and some are low so as to only be backup projects should the top 20 run dry.

Off to work now, 5 more orders to get done and i need to review my stock and reorder some goodies, i have a partial list but even making that was difficult, sometimes it is just too busy. I know i'm getting low on some regular items and others i've run out of. I can work better on this stuff in the quiet morning hours and i don't have to rush through it, enjoying some koffee along the way.

I've been doing some experimenting on the thermal exhaust port.

Those 100mm slim fans just don't blow or suck enough.

So i took the first box apart. I tried putting the 100mm fan inside blowing down inpalce of an 80mm i had there. Turned on power and could barely feel air coiming out the bottom.

Then i put as the intake fan one of the lighted 120mm thermaltake fans. They really suck, which in this case is a good thing. 10 times as much air came out the bottom.

So i've got the thing held together with string at the moment. The 100mm fan fit inside the vent. the 120mm is the same size as the box so it kind of fits on the outside, but then the screnn ahs to be outside that and the only way to hold it together is glue or string. Since i'm experimenting string is in use.

i'm gonna try to upgrade the second box.

i think the 120mm's will give better air flow, and they are pretty quiet as compared to the screaming gpu's anyway, so you can't tell the difference.

Not only that they kind of shine red light inside the hose, so it looks "HOT", I can barely see it now but it should look kool in the dark, ahving a faint red glow.

i'm also temporarily stelling power off one of the twins as i had a four pin connector there almsot right by the top box, so it was easy to plug the fan tap-adapters in a chain on to it.

i want to see how well it sucks with the second 120mm fan in the second box, then maybe this weekend i'll go buy some more boxes and hose and make my final build

Sorry Mikey, you're not WINNING again.

I had probelms with the nvidia gpu's again on both machines. Boinc said tasks were runningm, but the load was 0%. Both machines were running different projects (?)

I suspened the running task and another one of a different project started, and the gpu fans' spun up and the load and temps went up. Then on both machines i got that warning message and the screen blanked out a couple times. The message is the nvidia 270.61 driver stopped working and was restarted. Odd that the screen would blank out s it is on the ati gpu. Well at least they didn't die totally and the cpus and ati had kept on ticking. They may have been dead for 9 plus hours. There goes my RAC.

At this point all i can think is to try a driver downgrade. Maybe too it is the ati driver causing them problem and in some way interferes with the nvidia. Don't know it is still a mystery.

This wes the first time in about 9 days i had a problem with unit #1. unit #2 has been good for 4 days and then i've seen the driver error 2 or 3 times since then. but at least there were no shut downs or lockups.



Today I tried something new for my internet sales.
In my inventory spreadsheet I created a stock level column. Mostly it is blank, but for some items i want to keep i have added a number, then the next column called re-order will automatically show the difference if the stock drops below the level. So i have a way to monitor what i need to reorder.
I also added another colum called out of stock, and a do not reorder "x" column. The X is for things i can't re-order or don't want to be selling. If the qty in stock is zero, then the number sold this year will appear in the out of stock column, this is to let me know of things i'm out of i might want to consider re-ordering.
These will help me in these busy times.
I did reorder 15 items yesterday, and today i'm psoting the quantity online but with a restock date, so it shows them back-ordered but will let buyers place a pre-order.
Sales were slow this morning only 2 orders, so that is why i have time to work on some enhancements to aid me in sales. Was at 10% quotta on the 1st, 20% on the 2nd and now just 22% but i'm still ahead of schedule. Todays order put me 1 over the number of orders for last year.

That points to dual nvidia running, but i've had the problem on the unit only running one of the two nvidias, but maybe it doesn't matter that the second one is already idle.

Things do seem to be stabalizing, like they just needed a good burn in period.

i've gone 6.5 days at least without seeing the ____, I can't even say it as i don't want to jinx myself [knock on wood].

NVIDIA just released a new driver 275.33 so this is first on my list, using 2770.61 now, also i need to upgrade my boinc to 6.12.26 form the 6.10.60 version i'm running, maybe these will fix the hicccup.

I've also got a bunch of hardware stuff to do, swap some usb cables, swap some fans, add the eide hdds, movie boinc to those drives, add a dvd drive to the twins and try to get the fifth computer online.

As soon as i clean up some stuff here, i may do a total shutdown for hardware swapping, then start on the software upgrades and moving. I'm hoping the probelm is just a driver and sometime i will hit the combo that gets rid of it.

The new larger fans are helping the heat exhaust. I can feel around and things are kooler. If i can at least get the other i7 radaitor exhaust pummped in that should help too, as of now one one of the two feeds into the system. I think ashopping trip is in order soon. Ace is on the way to work, so i'll stop one morning on the way, they open at 7am, and get some more boxes and hose to complete the build. One of the boxes with the large fan i was able to tie the fan and screen on with string, just wrapped it around the round vent hole, down across the front of the screen around the bottom vent hole and back up and tied it off. The fan is stuck between the screen and the box. It worked rather well and also should i need to dissassemle it slides off easily. I don't want anything glued in permanately as i know fans will burn out and need to be changed and also my design needs may change as hardware upgrades or switches around, so a loose style is prefered. i'm still able to hold the box with the extra width of a fan ontop the stack with the same bungee cord.

As for inventory. Why not do all of them. Well a lot of items are no longer available from the manufacturer for one. Number two is a lot of items we bought cheap on closeouts or from business going out of business so i can sell them cheap, but at the regular price other sellers give them away cheap and i don't want to sell everything that cheap. I have enough to do at the moment anyway and no need to be overworked for only pennies. Also too some items are getting for very old models and less popular, restocking at this point i feel would just end up being dead inventory sitting here another year or more or maybe never selling, you have to draw a cut off line somewhere.

I did spend a lot of time yesterday working on my new columns and also reviewing some items, checking on the competition, if any. i seem to have a bunch of things there is no competition on. There are some items amazon is selling and with the fee i pay amazon, i can't touch their price so i've just left those out. I can't advertise things too cheap as then people come in the store and want the same price, some things we sell very well locally at higher prices and we offer support in store, so we can't give them away as cheap as some other sellers. Some of the manufacturers ahve minimum orders and we ahve to buyy too much jsut to get a few things, again we would be overstocked. We have to watch our cash flow and that is limited, we are at about 1/3rd our max for yearly sales, so this hurts our ability to have a large inventory. We are only a small company with 4 employees total, can't compelte with the wal-mart size stores.

It certainly was a helpful thing and as time goes on will improve my overall effectiveness.

Some good news, bad news.

Good news for my team as we are about to move up a slot and pass another team. They just got run over by the Overclockers and soon a few more teams behind ours. Bad news for 'The Final Font Ear' team, Sorry Mikey, John Clark, The Gas Giant, Dune Finkleberry, Daniel Michel and anyone else, there's a lot of you in there. Maybe some of you want to jump ship as we pass, we'll scoup ya up, after all our cybership is fueled by the twin hexaduo warp kore with trioverthrusters and twin afterburners.

Sorry now some bad news.

My mother is in the hospital today. She is 88. She has had problems and doesn't get around as well and has a bad back, miostly she just sits, which is not good and the last few years ahs been walking more with a cane, but can't walk too far, but since my visit in February has been getting worse. She has been having bladder problems and they are going to put in a sort of pace maker type thing for it that tells here brain when it is time to go, on a schedule. She had been needing to go once an hour, even during the night. She ahd gone for some tests and after that they called and said bring her to the hospital, as of now her heart is overclocking and needs to be slowed down. Didn't sound very serious, iunless untreated, but enough to need a visit to the hospital for a day or two. Not to sure what the treatment was going to be for that.

Dad finally got her a wheel chair to push her around in the house and is having a ramp installed so he can whell her in and out with ease, going down the stairs, even only if it is two of them is not easy. I and Mom had been asking him to do that for years now. Dad will be 90 next month and is in much better shape, still gets exercise from bowling and shuffleboard. He still drives and is doing a lot now to take care of mom, does the shopping and cooks a lot of the meals as mom can't stand up more than about five minutes. She can help with the meals if she sits at the table and dad brings stuff to her, like she can cut up the salad fixings, that sort of thing.

Noon. Warp kore offline....

Time to refuel with new unobtanium krystals, oops i let out the secret power source.

Added a dvd-rom and a dvd-r/w drive to twin 2. I have some more drives i can add to one, but i didn't feel like pulling the other old komputer apart yet. What i plan to do is use twin 2 or twin 1 to watch a dvd while i'm at my desk.

Swapped the konduits on the video, sound and usb so that lcd 1 is above lcd 2 as twin 1 is above twin 2 in the kore. Now i won't get as konfused which one is which as also the keyboards are on different levels on my desktop, 1 is higher up than 2. everything is in order there.

Rerouted four warp usb konduits and 1 warp video konduit and added 1 more video konduit for the fifth element. The usb i got new longer konduits, so i didn't have to take any shortkuts. The video konduit jsut made a kleaner look, then i added a konduit for the fifth element. My lcds kan use either the dvi or analog input, so i kan switch it, at least until i get the fifth elemnet running then it kan be monitored by remote konnection.

Reworked the thermal exhaust port boxes. better fixed the internal 100mm fans and then changed the 120mm intake fans from red to blue and duct taped them on. The hoses now glow a kool blue.

Since i took the two blue fans off each set of gpus i had to add two red fans since this is a 'hot' zone it is red. I then put the other blue fan just blowing air in behind the radiator and toward the mobo. That was more for visual effect. The red zone on the gpu's now matches the red zome on the twins cpu. The extra blue fan now matches the position of the blue fan on the twins hdds and the blue fan in the hdds on the i7's matches the blue fan on the twins psu, kinda sort of. I also added a third black non-lighted fan on the gpu's. The three fans force air onto and into the gaps in the gpu's

I'll take some new pictures sometime soon.

Added the 250GB eide drives for boincin' in the i7s.

Then there were a bunch of power konduits to reroute. i took the fan adapters out of the one line, so it powers only the usb external kustom konduits, the dvd drive and the B: boinc drive. I added a new konduit just for the fans. Modular psu's are kool. Still have room to add more stuff if needed. This way i kan add or diskonnect fans as needed with power on without worring about accidentially unplugging the boinc drive or active usb lines, of which one powers the hub the mouse and keyboard are on.

Rerouted the network konduits on the twins from the router to pass thru the i7s second network port. This frees up two network ports. I'll need one for the fifth element. The other i kan use for the blu ray if i want to take it off the wireless or use it for something else. I still have one more open kube in the kore. I might put the old win 98 system in there, just for fun to paly with now and again.

6 hours later, Warp kore online.

I powered up slowly, twin1, twin2, i7a and i7b. All camne on ok with only a few small glitches, no smoke, warp bubbles or klunking of anything caught in fans.

Twins ok except internet until i powered up the i7s. Then i had to enable ics on the i7s and set the ips in the twins but not much of a problem, all kan konnect to the internet now and boinc is a boincin' away. Assigned drive letters to the new dvd drives in twin 2, i like to use v and w for those, w usually is the r-w drive, although sometimes v can do that too. V for video and W is just a double V for the second video drive. Easy to remember. The i7's are also v and w. So far, yeah 6 dvd's online. I like to have backups of everything just in kase one doesn't work when needed.

Windows seven seems to forget sometimes where i left my desktop icons and i had to rearrange a few of those. But the seVens came on mostly fine.

Then i had to find the new hdd and assign it to windows and format it, name it and assign it to B:.

Next is to make a backup of the boinc folder, then uninstall boinc 6.10.60 and install new verison 6.12.26 on the B: drives. Kool boinc has its own private drive and letter now. boinc came up blank, so i shut it down and manually migrated the 'program data' folder, but everything started up fine after that. It does take a little to get use to the new tabs and where some stuff was moved too. But it is kool.

Ok, the gpus are somewhat kooler now since i added a third fan on them. The ati seems to be about the same at 92C, but i got the nvidia's down some. They are now showing 78C and 65C on one and 70C and 52C on two. It varies depending on project but those are lwoer than before. I'm actually showing 97-99% load on all three gpu's

The room temp over where i was monitoring went from 81F to 88F. i still need to do some more venting. A good thing i did't rush off to Ace yet, i just got a koupon in my email to get $5 in bonus bucks on my next purchase, for a fathers day gift.

Next is to upgrade boinc on the twins and then upgrade all four units nvidia drivers then some other software to install. Maybe later ot tomorrow, i'm pretty beat at the moment.

Still have to try to restart the fifth element and reinstall xp, then of course boinc so i can get another cpu and older gpu back online. If i get it working this is one i kan upgrade the older single wide gpu to a newer double wide. I haven't decided yet on which type, maybe i'll look for something on sale. I kan then take this single wide to work and have a system there it will fit in, that a double wide won't.

Ok now i've got 36 fans running, not kounting the floor and ceiling fan but including any in the komputers, gpus or psus. There are four each in the twins and 14 each in the i7's. How kool is that, The twins are 2 x 2 and the i7s are 7 x 2. Something weird going on the in the kosmic universe making my numbers align like that.

Still not at full power. But as of now i'm drawing 285, 337, 702 and 729 Watts. A whopping 2053 Watts. I'll let ya know what the electric bill is around the 14th, that will be my first bill at this level. The twins run pretty steady. The i7s vary somewhat, anywhere from in the 600's up into the 800s'. since i have 1200W psu's on them i am fine. The twins have 800W psus. The fifth element has a 680W psu but should be fine for what it will be running.

Khecked a lot off the todo list. Still some todo but getting kloser to having msot everything going and up to speed.


ps, for Mikey, internet sales are booming. i've had none friday night and they didn't start koming in until after noon today. i'm up to 7 orders and 13 items sold. That is unusually high for 1 day. 3 orders are for multiple quantity, which also is unusual, i get a lot of 1 only. I might break the record for the weekend. 2 are old items, the rest msotly new. I sold 7 of one item to 3 diffenet people. I think i have 8 of those in stock and just reorderd 2 the other day on my reoder. i only ordered 2 instead of about 6 as i thought that item had slowerd down in sales as i've only sold 12 in 5 months, time to reorder again. So ya see, it is hard to predict sales, in one day sold 58% of what i sold in 5 months on 1 item. Maybe now you see what i'm facing, it's a lot of thinking all the time, i can't just order a set quantity, i have to evaluate each item every time and adjust to marrket konditions, need to put our kash flow into what is hot at the time.

gotta eat dinenr now and rest, my eyes are begining to go fuzzy.

I'm prepared for the ebill. Sorry it pops into my email. I expect the twins still to cost aboput $15 a month each, that is thier average. I estiamted the i7s to be about $51 a month each. I'm prepared for an increase anyhow. It was something considered before i even started. Good thing i have a large supply of beans nad hotdogs, no steaks in the freezer.

Ok, here goes some software updates.

New boinc version 6.12.26 added to twins. I'm all uptodate on that here for powered up units anyway.

The bioncizers are offline... while i get ready to update drivers.

First I added CPU-z to the i7s. How did i forget that to check out my specs. I discovered soemthing. The bios verison on the mobos is different. Both Award. One is version FB of 8-24-2010 and two is version FC of 12-23-2010. This might account for something being they are not identical.

Now to try the new nvidia drivers, 4 installs to do here, plus i've got to do 2 when i get to that place on moanday. This is a good reson to NOT have oodles of komputers. I haven't updated boinc on them either.

Good news. No problems upgrading drivers. XP needed reboot, seVen did not. Although after i ran them a few miniutes i did reboot anyway as i wanted to have a clean slate to the latest test run burnin. Everything running smooth so far. The seven's warp out to 873Watts with a spike to 911Watts. I'm also running a hdd copy of my primary hdd to the backup, which may take a while as there is 295GB there, but it should go quicker as these two drives are on the 6Gbps channel and are 6Gbps drives.

Looks like i'm about to get sucked into a vortex.

Still everything running fine now. The NVIDIA GPUs are running a lot kooler. Before one of them was at 92C, now they run at 70C or less. That last fan masde a differnce on them. The ATI seems to remain around 90C. All four nvidia are running 50-54C right now.

It has been interesting to watch some of the graphs. I noticed the nvidia gpus rarley show more than 2% of the Vmem in use, except when gpugrid runs then it hits 41%. ATI usually shows 0%.

I moved the cable modem. It had been on top of the stack near the ceiling, out of my way whuile i worked. Finally i had time to shut off the network router and modem and redo the wires. Also i routed the cable modem through the spike filter on the ups. Now it sits on top of the router which is on top of the two double stacked lcds. I was able to strap the kables to the pole and add a short piece of wood too act as a leg at the back of the router to hold them up. I can see it better and also it won't be next to the ceiling at the hottest spot.

Got the dvd working on the twin and can watch movies, only can't hear them being the sound is right next to 36 fans, but thats ok i have some wireless headphones i can plug in to the computerwhich also help mask out some fan noise.

Be careful Keith upgrading can cause its own set of problems!! IF the crashes have stopped you may just want to leave well enough alone.

Keith I like the pictures and all the on screen gadgets too, but don't they take up processing time? Or is everything so new you are still enjoying it?!

Boy am i beat, I can barely keep my eyes open at this moment. I had 17 items to ship this morning and another 5 before the end of the day. My 3 business day sales for this month are now at 102% of quotta. I tried to convince the boss that once i hit quotta i should get the rest of the month off, but he didn't go for that. Maybe i can break last months record if it keeps up at this rate.

Current uptime is 1.5 days, i'm going for the record of 5 before i make any more changes as i do not want to reboot.

Mom doing ok, but no change really. Dad said she was in good spirits. She is still in hospital and on oxygen. they gave her a blood transfusion and some more platelets, but her heart has not slowed down. Tomorrow they are supose to put a tube in and look in her stomach, not sure what that is about. Thursday she is suppose to get the bladder regulator thingy put in. At this point it is just kind of wait and see what happens.

My BSRac jumped up another 20K today to 561K and my daily the last three days has all been over 1M each, so my real RAC might have finally topped over 1M. I did have an up and down before but it seems to be stabelizing now. Now i can start work on the next old unit and try to get that online, then if it works think about a new gpu and switching some around to other unpopulated systems.

At least both i7s were online this morning and still churning out work. I had a cable inrernet qlitch last night when i got home but they restored connection without me doing anyting in by about 6:30, so it was out at least 1.5 hours. Only thing is now it seems to be a single channel and not the bonded channels. Maybe they will finish fixing their problem today. I must have run too much data through and burnt out their switchers.

Hey, i have some extra pcie x1 slots. I see a few gpus for like a 100 bucks, i'm sure they are slow, but does anyone know of any of these, either ati or nvidia that would work with boinc ? Might not be worth the electricity but if i could find some used ones cheap it might help, i've got at least 6 x1 slots open between home systems. I'm kind of looking into it in my spare spare time.


Garden growing well, the mini tomatoes may flower within a day or so. They are like 4 feet tall already. I saw one flower on a bell pepper. The melon of wateriness plant is growing well, up to 6 leaves now and the gain like an inch in diameter every day, it grows rapidly. I guess i'm gonna end up with water melons growing on the stairs or hanging from the railings. What i can't figure out is why so far only one plant and i put like 48 seeds in the pots. No sign of any of the others sprouting.

Back to work while i wonder who the next winner will be ?

As far as x1 GPU's, yeah i know they would not be as fast as an x8 or x16, but i was assuming they would be faster than a cpu as far as bringing in credits ?
Don't really know it was just a thawt.
And being that they probally are outdated, i was thinking ebay or the like might have some really cheap.
I might try one if i could get it for like 20 bucks. Other than that maybe i can find some boincer that has one that could say how they perform.

OK, this morning the i7s didn't die, but #2 had one of two cuda gpus at 0% and #1 was running a moo! on both cuda gpus at 0-2% useage. I suspended the tasks and boinc picked up a diffenet task and kiccked back into 99% useage. I havn't had any krashes yet, i'm thinking all this time it is how boinc handles the gpu apps in the dual setup, like in the thread Mikey pointed me too, but it does seem the 6.12.26 version and the latest nvidia 275.33 driver do help the problem some. As for now i just have to keep a daily check on gpu activity. Too bad too as i think the one gpu was idle for 10 hours. Ouch there goes my rac again.

Now Mikey, if you had planted free seeds like i did a while back, you would have 2-3 feet tall pepper plants now, even the hot ones. Save some seeds out of peppers or save the hot ones whole for next year. I've got a quart bag full of those and about 7 hundred green bell pepper seeds stashed aay still from last year or before. And i put down several hundred already to get the plants i got. I don't think but like 1 in 10 grows.

The pepper plants look good, i'll take some photos soon. it is almost time to start adding some support ropes. The wind got the tomatoes yesterday and they looked awful, all half bent over and twisted, i had to do some tying up this morning. I don't use cages, i just build rope, well very thin cord cages as they grow. Get that camo cord and it blends in well. At least that works on the porch, if your in a ground garden, it would not work.

Sorry you guys are having a heat wave, it must be exhaust i'm venting out the window from the warp kore as that window is on the north side of the house, it must be blowing your way.

The smoke is awful today. 10 minutes is about all you can stay outside before your eye begin to burn. Some people have even seen ash flakes.

And today it is hot here too, 91F. I just refilled the water buckets. I like to keep them full, then dunk my water kan in them so in the morning i kan water kwicker than haveing to wait for a refill each time and also don't have to lug the hose around. So far this week, starting Monday, before it got hot, the plants sucked down 17 gallons of water.

Today was more kalm at work. io spent some time reorganizing part of my internet sales spreadsheet. I had a bunch of stat numbers krammed here and there. When i first did it and was using the komputer for other things at same time, i wanted the window to be half height. Since the komputer fowled uop and now is stand alone, all i do on it is the internet sales spread sheet. So i redesgned it header total Kolumns and stats kolumns to make it easier for me to see and understand. Then for fun i added a bunch of rows to keep track of box usage, so i better see waht size boxes i use and what i should keep more of. Ultimately i want to add a preferred box type to each item as some items fit so perfectly in a specific box, it will make it more easy for me to grab that one and ship a order, since about 98% of the orders are one item.

Anyway sales are great. I'm at 117% of quotta. Dollar sales are at 63% of last years and profit percent is at 99.39%, meaning this year i'm making a better margin so far. As far as dollars profit, in a week I only make about 1/4th of my take home pay, so at this point it is not enough sales to support one person. And by take home that does not include taxes and all the insuracnce etc the employer pays. Although it helps out, it does not warrant having an extra dedicated person, YET. I bet this month will beat last month which hit about 206% of quotta and was the best month so far this year.

New from home, not bad but not good either. Well is neutral news. Mom's condition hasn't changed. She was suppose to have her stomach inside i guess, looked at yesterday, but the anasteasologist would not put her under in her condition, this took three hours of waiting before they took her back to her room. So that procedure was put on hold. The doctor thinks she has a small blood leak somewhere, on the inside as blood is not squirting out anywhere. Also too there might be some blood clots or blockage in her legs. They gave her something to thin out her blood some. So at the moment her heart is still beating too fast, i guess it can't get enough blood flow so it is working harder. She was suppose to have that bladder regualar implant thing done tomorrow, but it looks like that is put on hold too, so she is due to stay in hospital still a while longer. I'm told this hospital looks like the grand hotel, so at least it is comfortable, probally more so than home. Dad has been there every day and doesn't get home until about 7pm , so i don't have todays report yet. It's not good news, but at least it is not bad news.

Dad has outlived, i think any of his realatives, i'll have to review the family tree again. Oh and for Mikey with his average estimate of 76 years, Dad has beat that as he will turn 90 next month. Mom is 88 and the only person on her side of the family that was older was her mother at 91, but she was not mentally good about the last 2 or 3 years and mom is pretty good in that area still.

Speaking of heartbeats, the i7s are still ticking, uptime now 3.3 days.

Oh and i think i came up with something that might help the exhaust. i'll have to construct it carefully tho with the power off. Using aluminim foil I can close off the gap, about 2.5 inches, between the gpu's and the box intake, thus formin a closed tunnel. Anything else would be too hard to manipulate or konsturct or possible not as heat proof. this would keep all the heat blowing into the intake fan and through the hose and out the window, as it is now, most goes that way, but some can escape. It also needs to be so that if i need to pull the box off i can get to the video connectors.

ps, i found a heat leak. With all the smoke outside, i kept smelling it in my room and also my eyes are buring. It will kome in the front door every time you go in or out, but i could not smell it out in the dinning or living room where the door is, only in my room, so there must be a leak somewhere. When i raised the lower window up and put in the heat exhaust vent and plate, i sealed up around the bottom of the window where the palte is. BUT, there is a gap between the top window's bottm and the bottom window's top where the two cross when open, and heat and smoke were filtering in through this gap. So some foam has been krammed in there to seal it up. Hopefully sealing the heat and smoke leaking in. Can anyone say brain phart ?

We've got plenty of water. In fact they just ran a 3 mile pipe out into the ocean to pump water on the fire, they can't just pump it out of the sound, it had to come from offshore. That must have cost a fortune. That had some tug pushing some kind of net thing in front of the pipe, at a cost of $3500 a day, just so sea turtles would not get caught up in it.

As for shorting out, that is why I said power OFF !

Yeah the strip like on an air conditioner, only i used leftover packing foam out of the mobo or psu boxes.

Kwiet today, 1 order. I've spent some time updating my spreedsheet and putting in some automatic counting and database summary items, so i don't have to do them manually anymore and cleaned up the appearance some more.

Oh boy, a bonus, got a $100 check from the rebat on my gpu's from evga. That covers the exhaust boxes, which i stopped this morning and got two more and some more hose at ace. I'll be adding these two on to the cpu radiator fans and pipe them into the line. I got a bonus 2500 points from ace, which like 5 bucks and maybe i' have enough other points too, so when i get a bonus points coupon i'll go back and get some more supplies needed. i'm gonna try to add the vbents tonight for the cpus.

All is not well in krunchinland.

I thawt the problems had mostly gone away, then blammo, unit #1 died last night, don't know the cause as screen was off and no way to wake it up with mouse and keyboard dead. Had to kick reset button to get a heartbeat. Then after a short 10-15 minute run, it died, luckily just after a post was written and sent. But this time there was only a freeze up, nothing on screen was changing and mouse and keyboard had no response and i could hear gpus had throttled down. Kick the reset button again. As I have a bunch of important work to do on this unit this morning, i've shut down boinc totally while i work. I haven't set up #2 yet to do these tasks so i need to use this one. I'm very nervous this morning. #1 hasn't died in like 3 weeks, #2 in maybe 1.5 so i'm konfused why this suddenly kame back.

Momma still in hospital. Nothing bad, but not getting much better either. They gave up trying to look inside her stomach. They are giving her some kind of iv that is suppose to help clear the blood clots in her legs, although they never bothered her. they think that is the cause of her heart pumping fast. She is not in any pain or unhappy. She was on oxygen for a while but went off that Friday and was able to breath ok. Looks like she will be in there at least another 5 days.

RandyC - Yeah you will ike seVen. I resisted for a long time, having never seen it or vista, gave it a try and fell in love in 7 seconds. It is somewhat different but not so much you can't navigate or make it run. There are a lot of new tricks to learn, and finding them is the fun part.

I just discovered my seVen's had not installed SP1 yet. I'm doing that now on both. Maybe this will fix the instability or kreate a whole new set of problems. Oh well, does anyone have a koin to flip ?

Well this is annoying.

Spent the last hour or so fixig or trying to fix bugs from the update. Everything is Fubar'd with a capitaol F

Some of the gadgets on two broke, only show a "<" which is guess is a scripting error. One system the gadgets won't find the ati gpu, although it is the primary display and i can see what i'm doing. Two lost google earth, not jsut the dektop icon but it was not even in the all programs menu, and i sware i already reinstalled it once on that system. in fact the download entry i had was a different version than one and i swear i had them both the same before as two would not install and one would but it had an older installer verison. Two also sometimes would not bring up the gadgets window, even from control panel.

Two would not remember icon placement any, ive had problems with this on both units, but usually only the last icon or two added. 6 times in a row after moving all of them and a restart, they all went back to the autoarrange position, and no autoarrange was not checked. I finally found a simple soultion on the internet after much reading which so far seems to work. After moving one or a bunch of desktop icons to the final position yo uwant, right click desktop and click "Refresh" then after your next restart it seems to have remembered them and doesn't move them all back to the left as if "autoarrange" had been chosen. A minor pain to remember to do each time but it seems to work so far. I've tired it 15 times in a row on two and every time after moving one of two icons and restarting they stayed put.

Now it is 9:30am and i've been up 4 hours and done nothing useful yet. Need to get some work done then back to the boinc problem.

Well today is not a total loss, but prety close. .

After a bunch of problems with the i7s i then install sp1 on both. This helped some but also messed up[ more stuff. Then i installed a newer boinc, so i found 6.12.30 and installed that. Got it installed on both and running and then went wacko, after a few attempts i gave up, then went to pay bills. Funny after i gave up tryingto fix 'em, they behaved more normally. Got the bills and stuff done and all my paperwork taken care of.

Funny thing, neither i7 has had a brain phart since i gave up earlier. Although there are some things still messed up on both, different things.

I feel that maybe if i uninstall all the nvidia, evga and ati software and drivers, then reinsall them things might improve. Maybe something else like java needs a redo too.

Well let me thiink on this a while, sometimes if i think, then go to bed when i wake up a better answer pops into my head.

On to the next thing anyway. I got the fifth elemet started. The windos xp is pretty well trashed. Any boot mode, safe, normal, comamnd prompt sort of starts to work, then it gives a 1 second bsod and reboots. i got a usb dvd plugged in and was able to start reinstalling a copy of xp from another computer. I can't find any disks for this sony vaio computer. Only ones i have is the mobo which i replaced and the nvidia card. I can't even find any books, the oly thin i found was a one page shhet like a quick start guide. oh i have everything for my even older computer and even older win 98 system, but this one stuff is all missing ?

I had meant to try to plug that hdd into another computer to see if i could read anything on it, and maybe save user setting, too late now as it is 49% reformatted.

the xp install cd said it was unreadable, corrupt or just plain ol' fubar'd. If i get it giong the olny things i need to install is the mobo drivers, network card maybe, nvidia drivers and then boinc. maybe setup remote connection, so saving users setting isn't really necessary anymore.

I might also change the network adapter and make it wireless. I want to take the twins off the i7s and put them direct back to the router. They work as is, but i've run into a problem i can't seem to find the exact settings to fix. twin1 is conencted o i7-1 and twin2 is conencted to i7-2. each i7 can see the other i7 and only the twin conencted to it and twin1 can't see twin2. It will just save me a lot of headaches in the long run to change things around and simply sharing when needed and internet access. As now if one of the i7s is offline the twin connected though it won't have internet access.


I almost lost this message, now after about 7 hours of smooth operation, this display just blanked out and i got a nvidia driver warning. gpu #3 has zero load. i thin k boinc msut have just switched tasks and barfed again. Cover your ears, fowl language attack coming on [bleep] [bleep] [bleep]


i give up for the night. Can't go sit on the porch, the smoke is rolling in. it has been clear all da until about 4pm. The last 5 days have been like this, clear unti lthe evening, then it rolls in, thick too. time for a movie.

I really just need to find the correct combo of drivers as I know people with these same model cards ati + dual nvidia, although the brand may vary. I really don't have the time to shut down and pull these apart, my installation was not as smooth as i had palnend and working on them is not all that easy. I'd rather jsut keep plugging away at drivers.

As for boinc betas, they usually are not the unstable part. I've run many many versions in the past when i was helping testing, never did they krash my lomputer. If there is a problem in those, it is more with loading work, switching tassks, than with it crashing.

It seem after installing that service pack, seVen has regressed. I'm gonna try to uninstall some stuff on unit 2, then reinstall the network driver, then ati, then the nvidia. This is how it sort of smoothed out before.

But first i'm trying to get the fifth one setup with windows xp and this is not co-operationg either. I may have to try to reinstall using a different cd as the one i choose seems to be missing something.

My desktop (main cruncher) has always been hooked up to the interweb with an ethernet cable. I want to move it without moving the modem and router. That is, operate it wirelessley. What do I need to look for to see if I have the proper wireless hardware installed?

Got win xp pro installed, somehow. It kept wanting files on cd2, and none of the sets i have for any computer has a cd2. I copied some stuff off a drive on one of the twins, the other file i gave up on and said skipit.

Got the network card driver installed and then finally network access enabled.

Got windows xp activated with the same key as was on this system before.

This is weird, there is no "IE" installed, although you can access the internet through 'explorer'. so now i'm downloading ie8 for it, then i can browse to nvidia and boinc for versions of drivers and programs needed.

It seems to be working but xp pro is not insalling as well as i think it should, it seems something is missing and maybe that is because the cd i used is from a dell system and not a generic windows cd, since i can't find my cds that came with this osny computer.

Haven't really got to the i7 problems yet, but they seem more stabel, after i turned off the 12 or so gadget doing all that monitoring, only left 4 running. There is stil la problem and i hope some driver reinstalls will fix this, also maybe flash plaer, java and stuff like that need a refresh.

I'm confused three. I remember something about him being on clear wireless or some name like that, is not fios, cable or pots or satellite. But for his laptop to be wireless, unless he is bypassing the router and modem and going direct, his router needs to be wireless so his router must be wireless (?) as i don't think he could go direct as the wireless he is on is not the same type, i don't think, as like what is in your house. His desktop however has a wired connection and he has no wireless adapters to plug inside it. This is what i think he means.

Sorry i've been away, lots to think about with momma in hospital. She is doing fine but not really much improvement, but she is not going down hill either.

My a/c is acting up. sometimes it sounds fine, other times it makes strange noises and will make different noises sometimes, like either the compressor is not working as it should or maybe like a bad bearing. its not the fan as the noise comes from the compress area, not the fan area. Anyway i finally remembered to call maintenance to have a listen to it. Would be nice if it something they could fix before it goes out. Anyway it's not something i realyy have to worry about, except i woudl hate for it to die with the computers on full blast.

Speaking of the computers, they are acting weird too. First, last night when i got home, i had decresed the cache earlier, but i have the network restricted from 5pm to 11pm. Well the cache was too small and boinc drained all the cpu work so the cpu's were idle. So i up'd the cache and then after 11 i guess it got more work. Only now this morning the beta boinc has drained one to only 12 cpu tasks and does not want to retrieve more gpu work, either ati or cuda, so it may be kind of idle, i din't have enough time to paly with fully this morning. The other one only had 12 cpu tasks left and some ati and cuda. Then there were more reboots. i may have to give up and pull the cuda gpus and start over the hard way, getting just the ati card working first and like see if i can make it run that way for at lest a week. i'll think about what i want to do, i'm tired of palying with the things at this point, but it won't be until the weekend so they have to limp along until then.

Just got my electric bill. Not too bad. It was $265. I'll have to look at home to see how much it increased, Before it may have been $125 max. I was expecting $51 increase each for the seVens so that leaves another $38 for electricity for extra the a/c maybe. not too bad. Jsut rough estiamte at this point, i'll look it over good tonight. I need to also compare it against some past bills.

Krunchin restored. When i got hopme unit number one decidde it wanted to have an empty queue and stopped fetching work, it was bone dry, i bet at least 8 hours it has been sitting 'ere doing nothing. I decided to go back a boinc version as i don;'t have time right now to do debugging for alpha or beta testing. Had to zero debts tho before i got it to fill 'er up, and it got a lot, at least 98 from mc.n so it is krunchin away and i'm happy at the moment, now on to that electric bill, well maybe some rum first.

Well it seems my electric bill and RAC are both going up, too bad my invesment portfolio does not perform as well. If you find a way to link the three so they all go up the sate ratio, that would be great.

The ONLY way I know of to make your investment portfolio go up is to diversify! That way some go up and some go down and hopefully it will go up more than go down. For instance buy Coke and Pepsi, people like Coke OR Pepsi not usually both, so in some places Coke will do really well and other places Pepsi will do really well. The problem is when you throw in Canada Dry, then you don't have just two choices you suddenly have TOO MANY CHOICES to chose from!! So a good adviser can be very helpful!

Well unfortunately for me i'm back to same old stuff.
The i7s ahve been acting up since the addition of seven's SP1. One is mostly ok but Two has regressed to having bsod attacks and dying in the night so i can't wake it up to see why it dies, requiring the hard reset button pushing. I need uninstall and reinsall a bunch of drivers, that is how i fixed it last time. Frankly i'm surprised to suddenlt see the bsods again. They only started up the last few days.
I'm beginng to get beyond my breaking point with this issue. It seems the best answer is to pull gpus and start from scratch, one at a time until stable to isolate the problem to a specific device or jsut pull the extra gpus permanetly. As much as i want to help boinc community, it to me at the moemnt is not worth it. i can only do so much and need to ahve a life too.
Let me get some koffee this morning, and then think hard on what i want to do or not do.

i7#1 - nothing added. Removed one gigbyte program i'm not sure ever installed correctly. Now in holding pattern. I need to get some work done first before i fubar anything up and as this is the one i've got all my data on so far I need to sue this one. After that i may upgrade boinc on this one for testing. This one has been more stable than unit 2.

i7#2 - uninstalled the gigabyte program, network drivers, evga precision, nvidia drivers at least. Many reboots in between. Then repaired ati drivers although i'm not sure it did anything. Reinstall network drivers. reboot. Reinstall ati drivers. reboot. reinstall nvidia drivers. reboot. reinstall evga precision. reboot. upgrade boinc to 6.12.33 for testing. reboot. Hold breath. Uptime so far 13 minutes.

The two twins and fifth element are runing ok, although i had to suspend gpugrid on them, since their latest app upgrade and driver requirements, the 8800gt's in those, and the two at work, produce more errors than good work so for now i've set nnw on those. But they have some other cuda projects to run although gpugrid was my favorite.

Back to testing the koffee maker, i need another kup to kompare with the first kup to be sure the output is konsistant.

As for the gigabyte program, that was suppsoe to allow mobo klocking adjustments, but when the desktop icon it made is clicked, nother ever laoded on screen and there are some other utilities i still haven't got to. i'm giving up on those for now until i work out other problems first. i'll have to read more on those before i get back to them.

Reviewing my ellectric bill of $265.

Like I said I was expecting a jump of $51 per i7.

I think 2007-2008 was when i had 5 computers, then there was a drop off or I had turned some off during summer months, so my bill to me seems to be inline and ok. I know the a/c is running more than it did before, but for 2 bucks a day that is not too bad. It does look like for july and august in past years the amount jumps up about 40 bucks, so i hope it is not too much more.

I think i can handle it. Back to a diet of franks and beans, no more steaks for dinner.

OK, solved the electric bill situation. Did some research into past bills. i nthe past i was able to use the max wattage of the twin type computers, as with the them the load is usually steady, unless i change cpu usage or something and i could do a fairly good estiamte and come up with a fair amount to deduct from the bill before i devided the rest in half for my roommate to pat. With the i7s the gpus run at a variable amount depending on project running, or if they krash dive. So i looked up a bunch of past bills and figured a percentage i charged the roomate, then used current levels to kind of figure a min and max they new computers suck down. Kind of came out with some numbers i thawt was fair. In the past he paid anywhere from 23 to 30% of the bill, depending on month and seasonal rates. If i use current levels at max of 900W this months bill, his portion came out to about 52.50, at minimum of 700W it would be 65.50. Then looking at the past percentages i settled on 20% for his portion. This made this months 53.11 for him, which is probally in line with what he paid in past years, but slightly less as i lowered the percentage to account for extra a/c running because of the computers. i've always tried to compute a fair number for both of us which has not always been easy. Anyway he was in agreement with the number and from now on it will be easier on me to calculate his bill.

Well that didn't last long. Warp bubble in i7#2 and it self rebooted, that is at least better than the bsod which just kills the unit with no further processing.

So new client makes no difference.

For now i'm underclocked both nvidia gpu cards on both systems by 10%.

While i wait for the next bubble to burp my system, back to taking a knap.

Last post was suppose to say after 5 hours.

Now I heard it reboot during the night, but the timer says it has been running 6 hours now, only thin is the timer on the other unti, which i restarted both at same time, says 21 hours running, so it ran 10 hours then rebooted and now has been running for 6. At least it is better than it was before driver reinstalls.

Number one has been good for 21 hours, both gpus are still running, so no wasted time with an idle gpu.

I had 13 Orders for the weekend, and 1 more so far today, with 2 more showing in the pending queue (awaiting clearance through the system). The 13 is a record beating out 12 and 11 on two different weekends.

I put a huge amount of stuff on sale ending July 4th !

It seems to ahve helped clear stuff out, although i'm not making much, but getting rid of it is the whole idea, without going broke that is.

Momma doing better and might be released from hospital today, Heart has clamed down and running normal speed now, no overclocking. Although they say she needs to go to rehab now for therapy as she is very weak, has been in bed over two weeks and she was not wlaking good before that. I'll find out tonight what the dealo is.

The answer is yes to both, it was 13 different people each with one item, so 13 items too. Then during the day I had 4 more orders for 5 items as one person ordered tow of one thing.All were new customers which take a while for me to enter the name and address in our system plus I have to then enter an invoice into our system. Those two parts take longer than packaging and labeling. The label I can generate through amazon's website and it fills in address automatically so that part goes kwicker.

Plus I had 7 regular store orders to ship during the day. Those are a mix of new items and items we repaired and some are repeat customers, some new, some wholesale.

I've got 3 more for this morning, Maybe four after I answer a message. People send messages, or sometime call and out phone is not listed on amazon so they go to considerable trouble to track it down, and the ask if we have the item in stock. if it says online it is in stock or shows a quantity, then we have the item. It will say "currently unavaialbe" if we don't or not even be listed. A few items wil lsay "backorder and givbe an in stock date. They can't seem to figure out how online shopping works. I'll try to update my FAQs but i don't think these people know how to read in the first place, so what's the point. Case in point, i got an order, fileld it, now they person wants to return it beacuse the item with this in the title (Furuno FP format) does not fit in his Raytheon plotter. Can you figure that out ? He even ent me a picture of what he wants. One is black, his is orange. One is squareish, his is long rectangular and so on. He only saw what he wanted to see in the title and that was two letters. Sort of like for computers if you saw "USB" on a cable and ordered it. Well there are more than one type of usb plug. I had a person once order a cable. Then they returned it because it did not fit on thiier TV cable in jack. They cable was for a VHF radio antenna and all they saw was the word "coax" and figured it worked. I had to explaint there are 80 different size coax cables and connectors. Coax or Coaxial only means two wires, one inside the other sharing the same axis. I get some mesages form people asking silly questions and they answer is already in the item description or features.

Don't ask, you might jinx them. I hope so. They have been running as of this morning for 3 days. Only one small warp bubble and no sky colored screens. I'm not sure though the problem is really cured. Mostly i'm using a newer client 6.12.33 and unclocked the gpus and turned off all project which had cuda31 apps. So the exact cause is still unknown but might be in one of those three things.

More work, gotta run.

Sales going strong. I have more orders already to fill that came in late in the day. Beside the 7 I shipepd today for internet, I had 11 boxes from our regualr store stuff and was packing and labeling up til 5pm and UPS showed up a few minutes late today, thank goodness.

Internet sales are at186% of my quotta, and i'm hoping to beat last month which was 206%. For the year i'm at 72% of last years, which is outstanding as my goal was to be at least at 50% by the end of June.

i7s still running. Uptime 4 days 9 hours on one and 3 days 18 hours on two. If i can get to 5 that will be a record !

There is still a problem with scripts on two, i don't know exactly is messed up on that one, i figured one day i'll figure out what it is and how to restore them to working order. One seems to be less buggy.

Well both the i7's have been running for at least 5 days now, 2 more hours on one will make 6. two is about 15 hours behind. Two has had no self reboots and the screen has awoke every time i press a key. Before one of the problems was it would die and pressing a key had no effect, screen would never come back on, so i could not tell why it died. One has been running fine this whole time, i only had to dump one gpu app with zero load in the past almost 6 days, other than than it has been keeping all gpus active.

So i'm hoping now i've found a stable running config. I thionk i'll run some more before i attempt to make any changes. Next will be to start raisng the clocks back to toward the factory settings. If I can get back to those settings, then the problem would have been either boinc or the cuda31 apps, if not then the problem is in the nvidia gpus. Time will tell.

One of our older, 7 years now, single core desktops is failing. Boss man wants a kwick replacement so he found soume used system on ebay with xp home on it. We need XP pro at least for security on the network. I found a slightly better one with XP pro, 4GB, 750GB HD, Pentium D 3.4GHz that was faster and better and less money only becuase it has no monitor with it and we already have that, so I think he might get it. This means there will be two more cores online as boinc isn't running on the broke one because the guy using it has too much stuff on it and filled up the hard drive. The new one also will have PCIe-x16 slot or slots for future upgrades.

Good news first

i7#1 has made it past 6 days uptime at 6 days 9 hours and #2 is at 5 days 18 hours. This is the longest either ahs been on between reboots.

Internet sales are at 204.69% of quotta and last month was 206.60% so i'm sure to beat it, as I jsut got another order which might be at least 1% and then there is still a weekend were i get about 10-20% of quotta in sales not to mention all next week. So this month is going to be arecord breaker.

Might get to see my oldest brother next weekend, he is going to our old town for a reunion and that is only 2 hours away from here. I haven't seen him since i was at least 16. The other two I see more since thay are not far away still near or in the old town we lived in. Brother #`1 though moved several states north.

Bad news now

Momma still in hospital, 3 weeks today. She was suppose to get out Monday, then Wednesday and now still in there. Dad keeps her company about 5 hours a day. She is godd most days but has had a few bad days. They keep testing and find something else wrong, although it is all minor things, except at 88 any minor thing can be bad. I call dad every few days so he does not build up long disc=tance charges and then I keep my three brothers informed or they talk back and forth. I do worry but since she has lived to 88 so far, it is not as bad as someone younger. I try not to think about is some, but then sometimes it still gets to me. Wish I could at lesat be there some.

Toasty hot today at 92.5F with 62% humidity and a light 8k wind. I have been outside some and the spepd to do anything is very slow.

I have a new idea i'm working on. i found at work a blower. This is a high speed fan used on boats to suck air and fumes out of the engine area and blow them out overboard. It happens to be in a 4 in tube, the exact same size as my hoses. However the thing makes 3 times as much noise as my 42 fans put together. It runs on 12vdc so i could power it off one of the computers. If I can find a speed control for it and maybe slow it down some so it still sucks a lot of air, but is less noisy i might use it. I could then remove the fans on the intake boxes as this would provide enough suction to suck in air and the heat from the gpus and blow it out the window vent.

well back to R&R.

Hey I think I figured out t=how to kool better, Get a window AC unit. Before I rewired with power wires I did not have enough current here in this room to run one so that idea has been out, and out iof mind for a long time. Since I off loaded the computers from my room circuit to two other circuits, there is more power avaialble. A small in size 6000 BTU window unit would do a nice job. I have to go physically look at some. I saw one online and it only weights 20 pounds but says it can kool 250sqft which my room is at about 200. Uses about 5amps/585W max which is about what two old computers used and those are off that one line so i now have capacity. Also it would be right next to the stack so maybe i could angle the vents to blow almost on them, on the i7s even. I still would have room in the window area for the exhaust hose. I think this would reduce the amount the house a/c runs as some rooms are very kold and this room not so much. If I kept my door klosed then it would be two different kooling zones. Anything bigger in size might mean a permanent mount in the window, then it becomes part of the house and not my property anymore. A small not heavy one I think i can mount without it being attached to the house in any way and without damaging anything.

Sounds like a kool winning plan.

I need to get back into alpha testing and back on the mailing list, only i'm so overloaded with things now i don't feel like that much reading and filing test reports. However i have been trying to follow the changelog to see what new features are being added.

Coming soon will be a really kool one. it will allow you to exclude a project or specific app for a project(s) from running on a specific GPU.

Since i've got 3 and the one in the middle runs the hotest, i was thinking only if there was a way to run the apps that only produce a 50% load versus the ones that run a 99% load. Looks like problem solved when this one releases as i can make a list and exclude certain apps from running on the middle gpu and keep some temps down some.

Plant report.
Well even with the lack of rain, the garden is boomin'. The bell pepper palnts have leaves as big as my hand spread open. There are two peppers so far approaching ping-pong ball size and those are on the one palnt that survived the winter. The others are flowering now but nothing of visible size yet.
The melon of wateryness palnt has 3 runners and a forth started. I'm growiing this in a pot and these runenrs are going to be running up the stairs, don't know where the melows will fit if they come. They grow several inches a day and i'm watering it twice a day.
Tomatoes growing tall, now about 4-5 feet. There are about 5 green tomatoes on one plant and one is full size for a miniture tomatoe, but not a lot of other flowers yet.
I finally got some Alamanda babies to grow, there are 6 so far out of about 36 seeds planted and two are 3 inches tall. The momma is about 9 years old and i have had trouble getting offspring from her. I hope these last. I had some years ago but they did not survive past 6 inches.
Lots of other things going and growing well.

I don't go for piercings or tattoos either. Earlobes are ok on gurls as long as they don't wear those 7 inch hoops in them. And one small tattoo is ok, like on an ankle or something. I like the natural look and smell. I don't go for stinky perfumes either or caked on makeup.

OK, today I hit 717 out of 2.2M krunchers. my best spot before was 459 back in 2005, so i'm heading for that with a predi=cted spot of 150ish. I check my spot every day and just look at the first 3 digits, and see how many people i'll pass that day since i'm doing 1M average now. I'm passing 5-8 people a day, more or less.

So uptime on one is 9.38 days so far and counting. two a still on and a little behind. Thisd is the longest run for both of them.

On to sales, i had 10 orders over the weekend and 5 more today, so 15 went out today and already two more lined up for tomorrow. This was a good number and the dollar total was good too for a weekend. I've passed last months sales which was 206% and now have the best month this year at 231% of quotta so far, and if I get about 14 more small orders (or maybe 4 good ones, where 3 small 1 1 good) by the end of the month i'll beat the best month last year and have a record. Stay tuned we might have a winner soon.

Sales are good. I'm close to breaking the record. I had 6 smaller orders today, and if I get 6 more each tomorrow and thursday of about the same amount i'll break the record. So i think it will happen as i've already got 3 orders since 5pm and one was equal to about 3 small orders itself as it was a bigger item and one is for 2 items, so count those 3 orders as 6 as i'm already half way there.

Momma got of the hospital today. I think she had been there at least 3 weeks. She is not home yet, but in the rehab place where they will get her back walking and her arm working. This place is only about 2 miles from home, so Dad can visit more, or more easily.

I don't think it is the ati driver. The rebootsd started before i upgraded to 11.6. And why after 9 days of smooth running did it falter back into bad behavior ? I suspect some project I still run has a bad app ?

I'm so excited, I got two more orders last night 5 total, but the dollar amount put me within 0.25% of breaking the record. I'm sure to get at least that much before 3:30pm tomorrow which is my cut-off time.

I broke the sales record today. Not only did I get an order to kick me over, but then another really good one and a good one, so i'm 4.54% over the old record and at 260.42% over last years average for this month, so far. That makes this years monthly average at 153% over last years average. I would have been very happy if at now, the half way popint of the year I was at 50% of last years sale but I'm at 78.50%, I deserve a four day weekend with double party time. However having such a high total is going to make next month even be busier to beat it.

I agree Mikey there is no resaon. But there is. What happens with electronic parts is as the heat up, they expand, as they kool off they contract. If the solder joints are poor over time they break apart. So when it kools it no longer makes contact, then it won't come on, or comes on and makes funny noises. This use to be a big problem back in the 80's, but as parts get smaller and make less heat, it is not such a big deal, but still can happen. You may notice nowadays that tvs and comnputers don't fully turn off, they keep a low voltage/current flowing through the circuits - so they don't kool off and break. Same thing with metal fatigue in airplanes.

Well my RAC is up into the 900Ks now. My position i'm still clawing my way up the list, moved into the 600's today. Soon on my team i'll move up, i'm at 6th and will be 2nd by the end of the year.

Speaking of my team, we hit a half milestone today, passing 2.5B. It took us 6 years for the 1st 1B, 8 months for the second 1B and 2.5 months now for the next 1/2B which would make it down to 5 months per B. We should hit almost 4B by the end of the year. I'm rather happy with that and I guess my team-matties are too.

Back around the middle of the month I didn't think i would break the sales record, and even the last few days it looked close or iffy. Well then the better orders came in, and not only did i have the best month this year, but I broke the record for last year, so far i'm at 110% of the record. Also for the year I should be at least at 50% by now, the middle of the year and i'm at 79.75% of last years sales amount. If that doubles then i'll have about 160% for the year which is far better than i had expected.

Well i'm all done for the day. The Post Office closes at noon for the looong weekend. I came in Early and had to reprogram our sales tax rules as the state rate dropped 1%. Unfortunately they have a report i have to fill out for each county we ship to, there are 94 in the state and some have different countiy rates. so our system has to have one sales tax rule for each county and you can't have two rules for each sale, so i had to adjsut every rule, but we only have 52 in the syste, the others i've never shipped to and will only add if needed. Took me and hour or so to do that this morning before i started everything else which was internet orders then customer statements. I wish we were a cash in advance business as this part of the month is a waste of time.

The state is making up the difference by covertly raising the sales tax on gasoline by 2%.

Time to reorder some stuff, i've put if off for a while and i'm out of a lot of items. It saves on freight costs too, per item, by having a larger number of items in one bigger shipment than several small ones.

I might leave early today as I now have a bad headache.

This weekend will be a big shopping event for me, as i have some bigger items i wanted to buy, but have wanted to wait and save the 1% of tax.

ps the i7s are misbehaving again. Number one out of the blue decided to self reboot yesterday while i was here at work, that hasn't happened to it for a long time as it has always been more stable than unit 2. Since the last reboot it was like 12 days. I updated the ati drivers and some windows updates then restarted both of them. Self reboots i can handle better than the bsod which just kills the machine and everything goes idle (hurting my RAC).

I'm home from work. Went out to water plants and untabgle the watermelon vines. I've got several small melons started, one is about an inch long.

Got a pizza in the oven so after I eat that, 1/2 for lunch and 1/2 for dinner, I might feel better. Dinner comes imemdiately after lunch. If not the rum in the koke will help out.

Yes mikey the exhaust vent is hooked up. But that has nothing to do with heat build up in the computers, tere is none becuase of good air flow around them, it all can dissapate. that only helps with sucking the heat exhausted from the cpus or gus outside so it does not build up in the room. I believe my cpu or gpu temps are within specs. I will keep investigating when i have time, it is a driver conflict i'm sure and it is related to how boinc runs multiple gpus. i'm thinking that it is a specific project that when running the same proejct on each gpu causes some probelm, although that should not happen. It also just could be a defective piece of new hardware. I jsut don't have time now in my busy life to sit down and do extensive diagnostics, pull the thing apart and start over. i will figure it out one day, but that day is not today. Also too i noticed that the bios version is different between the two, even if it is only 2 months apart, maybe the was a bug they fixed. i will try sometime to find the same version and flash them to be the same.

For now one is stable enough for me to do important work and two is well capable most of the time of krunching for science.

Maybe in the fall wehn work is not so busy and i'm am not under so much stress i can work on them.

for now, i'm updating my projects list and links and adding those also to our team website, rebuilding my password list as a logon to sites and watching the meolons of wateriness grow.

Mikey, I've got Gigabyte and there is built if flash bios stuff, I can even do it from within windows I think. I downloaded all the bios versions. There are two newer, they don't say much in what they fixed, one thing but they could also fix other minor things, only being in my case the minor thing being the problem. What I now wonder about though is unit two with more problems has the newer of the two systems bios versions. I'll wait on this a while. I might try the even newer version or go backwards one (?) I don't think i'll mess with one until i get two straightened out.

I upgrade the nvidia driver to a higher beta version, no difference, i had a bsod last night.

For now i've tried something different. i switched the screnn background from changing every 10 minutes to changing once a day, also set the screensaver off and set the monitor power down to never. I turn the monitor on and off manually, this way if it dies again i may be able to power on the monitor and see the bsod errors, they are everal different ones. Maybe if i colelct enough info they might point to a common cause.

Now numebr one being more stable does not have all these errors except rarely, but occasionally boinc will start a gpu task and it will run at 0% useage on one of the two gpus, happens on both, happens with about any project. Hasn't done it in a long while, like 14 days, but did it twice this morning. suspend the app boinc wil lstart another one and everything goes on running. i found it jsut better to abort the bad app just in case it is an app problem, soemtimes resuming thme the hang again.

For now i'm jsut going to live with the problem and work on it slowly or more in the fall. I did little computer stuff yesterday, and probally none today. After breakfast i'm gonna go back out and watch the watermelon grow.

Just frozen video, no gpus were running hot and as usualy the keyboard was dead, i guess that is because the usb bus is dead too when it locks up. The system had run 7 minutes, exactly after I rebooted it last. So i turned it OFF. End of story.

Keith it is very frustrating I know!! But I do not think the not running hot gpu's after the crash is important, I think it would be helpful to know what the gpu temp was before the crash though, does it go up alot just before the crash? Do the gpu's even make a difference to the crashes? I just think you are at the very pointy end of the stick and are experiencing configuration issues. Ie drivers not liking each other, conflicting drivers, etc, etc, etc.

SwiftMallard hopefully they WILL show up on Wednesday!! My neighbor has Comcast and for 3 days had NOTHING and they wouldn't even send someone out!! They finally came out when he threatened to put their stuff on the curb because he saw the Verizon FIOS guy at another neighbors house! That is why I switched away from Comcast, lack of people caring that I had a problem but still wanting my money every month!!

Looking forwards to real broadband on Monday, and hopefully not having to renew the PSU on the dual P3 server ... nothing works. I will need to upgrade the dual Xeon server PSU to 550w before I can try out the PCI 9500GT cards. Will be patient as other expenses take priority.


Sorry to hear about the relapse/new problem your Mum is having Krunchin. We hope it turns out to be minor.

After I thought about it I don't think the UPS is the problem, but i do need to upsize those before I burn them out and at some point I was going to repalce the older UPSes on the twins anyway, so i'll just get two new bigger ones for the i7s and move the two newish ones on them over for the twins and take the old APC UPSes offline and keep as backup-backups.

Im occasionally getiing into the 900W's, at least one unit 1 and 900W is suppose to be the max output, i guees when on A/C power it can go over that but i bet on battery power it would not and cause a problem.

I looked at two bigger models, one had 1000W and the other 1500W output. 1000W iskind of OK but so close to my 900 i would like something bigger, yet 1500W is too big, especially if I have two on the same 20A brtekaer, if they hit full power it would be 24A and blow the breaker. So to be safe I looked again and found a nice 1350W model, which will give me a little extra room, though i don't expect to use anything over what i do now, so it will give me a longer runtime. At full power now i have 2 minutes. Not very good.

I found this one at amazon (Cyberpower website)only it is out of stock. I'll look some more and think harder on this, but i feel better with this in between model.

I think this weekend i'll proceed with disassembly of i7 #2. I gonna pull both nvidia gpus and unistall drivers and then only run it for a while on the single ati gpu and see what happens. I would feel better running that way for a while and then if stable, add one at a time the nvidia gpus back in and see what happens. I can always try to retask them in other systems, maybe here at work and try some other configuration at home. I'l see.

We had rain last night, i got 12 gallons in my buckets, too bad i didn't put out spare buckets but it is thunderin' and lightening now again. So maybe i'll get a refill.

But there is going to be a new client where you can control what projects or project apps run on which gpu on a per app or project basis. i may begin testing tonight as the one released into testing yesterday should have that fgeature in it.

what i have is ati, cuda1, cuda2.

Cuda1 runs the hotest because it is sandwiched in between the other two and even with extra fans it on has those small gaps, due to poor mobo designs, in between the gpus to suck air in through.

What i want to do is take the cuda apps that run at 99% load and put them on outside cuda2 gpu, then specify the apps that run at 50% load and put the on the cuda1 middle gpu, the ati is not a problem. This also will keep from running the ati at full and both cuda at full and keep the electric load down below overload at 900W and and also heat output down.

It will be easier to see what goes on all on one screen and control all-in one setup file.

We had one of those old single core 2004 model computers die. The boss man wanted to buy some computer off ebay, it was too underpowered, i recommended another unit about same price, he went against my choice again and got some local yoyo to install one. Then after a big argument over that and when our person wnated to use our software, it was not on there. Surprise. I had told the boss all the stuff i had to do to set one up and he, i guess believed this guy would do that, but he didn't becuase he doesn't know what is needed, didn't ask and i didn't offer any help either. So i spent an hour this morning installing the propper apps, which accidentially included boinc and mc.d on both cores. too bad it has a 100M internet connection becuase i'm not going to tell the user and stick a GBe card in it. That's what they get for not taking my advice and going behind my back. Well good nes is two more cores online, as the old one had so much garbage on it, boinc was not running due to lack of space.

Then there was the spare computer on the desk we use for quickbooks, it got shut off, without pwoer down. So i had to fix that. I bet the yoyo turned it off since it had no monitor or keyboard on it and he figured it was not in use. The boss and I remote in to it, so it don't need those.

I also had another strange problem on the bosses computer. I had this one on my system a month ago, and never solved the issue but had to disconnect mine fromt the domain. The i think i figured it was a failing network adapter. So i'm thinking this is his problem too and i pulled the unit, blew out the dust with an electirc duster, this is really kool and blows good, beats those cans of air and blows out dust you didn't even see. Then i stuck a new GBe adapter in his. After the fix he was able to login to our software so i'm hoping that was the cause, only time will tell.

Well now that i've wasted 3 hours this morning on fixing stuff other people broke, i can do some paperwork.

Gee, where did every one go ? No activity for 24 hours. Hard to declare a winner so the game is extended to a new deadline since no one claimed the last win.

On to todays experiment.

After a late sleep, taking care of my days duties and then breakfast, then a rest period to watch another episode of Eureka, i had an idea to turn unit two back on. So i've pulled the two nvidia oscillation overthursters out and am going to run it only with the one ati overthruster for a while.

Let me first see what boinc does with a week old cache of work, but first i'm also going to uninstall also the nvida drivers and software.

Well the watermelons are growing well, two good ones and two more little 1 inchers started.

I'm also having good luch in getting the baby alamanda's growing this year. I've got 10 in one pot, the second pot grew none but surprisingly some lettuce popped up in it. If the alamada grow some more i will transpalnt some of the into bigger pots. I'm gonna put 3 each in two big pots and then may two each in these pots i started them in, big but not as big as the bigger pots. The original momma is about 7-8 years old maybe even 10. Part of her is dying off but trying to come back where i trimmed a lot. If the other get growing good I may jsut let her go. I'm thinking by this time she needs a transplant.

Well I just came in from outside and found unit number one had shut off as it overloaded the UPS and it turned off output and displayed fault. I lost network too as the router is on that ups. I had to physically turn the compute psu off and then turn the ups off before i could turn both back on. So for now i disabled one nvidia gpu in unit 1 so i don't keep overloading the ups and actually blow something up. This was the first time it did this. I think it had been on 10 days. I've had so manay various problmes with these units, 12 days continued uptime without some failure is the record run. Odd thing about the failure is unit two is still running fine (so far at 22 hours) but also both the twins rebooted, no i don't think their upses faield as they are on a differnet circuit, but one was restarting and two was about to shut down as i came back in. I don't know what happened while i was outside.

Well back to gardening.....
