Man I missed it.

I was up til 2am playing Modern War on my iPad (It's a little more fun than this game). Oh well. And when i cut myself off and trieed to go to sleep, i wasn't even tired yet. it will catch up to me later. Can't dfo that twice in a row anymore.

Had a scare yesteray. Came i nthe room and heard a sound, like liquid dripping (Large drops). Turned out to actually be a fan on a hdd going bad and it had just the right rythum to sound like liquid dripping on the floor. False alarm.

Going to go win at my other game. Time to build some more territory and knock off some bahd guys.

Sleeping for 3 days seems a little inviting just about now. The forecast calls for 3-6 inches of white stuff starting tomorrow afternoon.

Just letting you know what will be coming your way after it runs through here.

[edit]I guess I really shouldn't be complaining...it's been a VERY mild winter so far--knock on wood!!!

Ouch! Why does my head hurt all of a sudden?[/edit]

Yeah they are saying maybe it will be here Saturday morning along with the Seattle stuff, maybe you are getting that now though?

I am typing this on the first of my next X6's, the 2nd is finally loading Windows now. I had to run the workunits down on an old pc so I could use the psu, a 750 Watt, in the newest X6! This X6 is an AMD 1090T while the newest is an AMD Bulldozer FX-6100 X6 cpu. The new mb is an Asus, like Bymark suggested, and again it has 16gb of ram to run 64bit Win7 Ultimate. I got almost a 20% increase in RAC at WCG with the 1090T and am hoping for another 20% with this Bulldozer cpu too! Both mb's come with 3 pci-ex16 slots, the 1st pc already has two AMD 5770's gpu's in it crunching for Moo at about 30 minutes or so per workunit. That is about the time of an AMD 5870 gpu so is very good, of course even with two 5770's I don't get double precision so no MW on them! This newest X6 will also get two AMD 5770 gpu's in it when it is fully up and running in a few days. Altogether I have added 12 cpu cores and will remove 3 to 4 dual core pc's from my ranch, so a newt gain in cpu's!!
WINNING!!!

Because they are running at WCG right now, let me warn you I could not even get it to boot up with a 585 watt psu in it! I had only 1 Sata hd, 16 gb of ram and one old crappy pci-e 256meg gpu and it would NOT boot at all! I got lights but no go! I put in the 750 watt psu, which had TWO 4 pin mb connectors and it powered right up and has been doing updates etc for a while now. It still has no pulled in SP1 but I am going to quit now and let it run overnight and see if that happens. I will let my signature come thru so you can see why I am running WCG. (hint it is below Seti!!!)
WINNING!!!!

Okay Bymark here they are BOTH online at Moo:
http://moowrap.net/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8554
and
http://moowrap.net/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8022

The FX-6100 JUST THIS MINUTE went on line with dual 5770's, prior to that it had a single 5550 that I thought was bad but turns out wasn't! I used the 5550 as a gpu to get the machine up to date with the latest updates etc, it also crunched while it was doing that overnight. It is now on the shelf again.

STILL WINNING!!!

The game is still on, but The guys across the pond seem to have lost interest. Bymark checked-in a couple of days ago...who knows about him. Keith has a bunch of stuff to do...and swiftmallard is MIA.

Maybe they all figure that this early in the game there can't be a winner.

They COULD be wrong!!! But right now I am...

WINNING!!!

I'm, after recovering from that 2am game playing night.

I've got a lot of computer mods to do, but not feeling like it today. So a lot of my krunchers are down or off boinc until i fix certain things and install that second LCS.

I'll relax with some game playing which takes 10-15 minutes and then I have to wait like half hour or hour for my points to regen, so I play some then go off and do other tasks.

Today will be some plant care.

Maake some more kupcakes, i like them better than a kake as when i store them it is easier to grap one than to have to kut a piece of kake off each time. Plus they stack in smaller containers better than a large pan or round kake.

And some more light duty tasks, maybe WINNING !

Getting ready some for my vacation next month. Turned on and dusted off the Netbook. Hasn't been used since last vacation. Had some data to copy over, of course all my transfer scripts were for the old computer, so I had to edit all those to copy off the new computers. Put a new portable movie on it. Then update a few apps and shut down, which trigged windows to do it's updates, all 50 of them.

I think i need another knap. Today feels like one of those days.

Not me, still 13 months to go.

I'm adicted to modern war. started playing when i got the ipad and now after 1 week i'm on level 20. expanded my base from the six starter squares to 14 and another land square will be ready, after a 24 hour wait, in an hour. then i've got to start construction of buildings on it. Each square of land or upgrade to a building keeps getting more and more costly and takes longer. Then there are also other things you can buy, troops, vehicles, airpalnes, war ships. But every level you go up takes more points to destroy something, but then the cash rewards get bigger too. Plau also there are other things to buy like trees, street lights, walls or fences. I've got about 99% of my land area full.

I just got attacked by another player and won 1781 bucks. A couple of times i won 5000 bucks. Keep on attacking me, i need the money. So i guess i'm winning since i don't loose much.

I'm not quite sure on this, have to read more. But it looks like i can downlaod itunes for the pc and then play the modern war app on the pc under itunes. Would be nice since i want to use the ipad at work, and play the game at home, but at the moment i'm carrying it back and forth every day. I don't think i want to buy one for myself just for this game but i do like playing in bed and it is much lighter than a netbook.

WINNING I think.

Testing from the office on my iPad via wireless.

if you can read this then my wireless is working.

ended up being easier to setup than I thought. Any computers on it are isolated from our domain computers and I have two wireless zones, one for us and one for guests. the guest zones is isolated from the other zones. I got the same router I had at home as I am familair with it and it was easy to t up.

this is the first message I've typed on my iPad touch screen keyboard. It works pretty good.

Winning.

I know but I am still trying to get my WCG stats past my Seti stats, it is a long term goal, another 2 to 3 weeks is my guess, depending on how high the new pc's push the RAC. Right now it is doing 6 cores for WCG and 2 gpu's cores for MOO, my other X6 is doing the same. Both are using all 6 cpu cores for WCG and BOTH of their gpu's for Moo. I AM crunching for GFAM, a Malaria project, mostly.

No "Oh evil one - RAC 666"!

Being a bit pregnant means I win.

I can understand a pregnant pause, but a pregnant win?

I don't think so!!!

WINNING!!!

Mikey, you've had a long enough win. Time for someone else!

WINNING!!!

Are you sure? Where did Tiger go?
WINNING!!!

I don't know. Maybe he got miffed because you declared ME winner even though he posted after me last game.

Da RULES:

The winner will be the last person that posted, when I have time to check the thread, after one of these events:

However, you were the moderator and THIS is also in Da Rules:

Rules Subject to change at moderators discretion without notice

So right now I am once again...

WINNING!!!

Ummmm okay let me explain EXACTLY what happened then and maybe he will see it and come back! I saw the winning post, yours RandyC, and clicked to post identifying you as the winner, I did all the bold, caps and size thingys and then posted. Well there was Tiger's post in between! So I had to go back and edit mine saying that it was post #200 that was the winning post. The problem is the starter of the thread can't tell anyone what the criteria is for winning or no one will post until the thread gets close to that point, and what is the point of that? The thread would never get there! I am sorry Tiger was mad, but he lost like so many of us over the years by being one post too late! I lost a game the other day WHILE I WAS WINNING!!! The criteria was the first person that posted on a certain date, well I posted the day before as winning and no one posted in between, so I could not post again or I would have lost due to a double post! Sometimes you just can't win, sometimes you just fall into a win! I am sorry Tiger lost, but that is the breaks of the game, look at your first post RandyC and you can see how many games each of us has won over the years, meaning ALL THE REST OF US LOST THOSE GAMES THAT WE DIDN'T WIN!!!

But this game I am now WINNING!!!

Nah, that's not a problem Mikey. The rules allow the moderator to do whatever he wants, or needs to do...see the other rule I quoted.

I've been in your situation before too: I had a good guess as to what the winning post# would be, but my post was one post before it, and if I posted again to hit the post number I would have double-posted and been ineligible. Just Catch 22 or Murphy sticking his nose in. I've also picked a winner and someone posted before mine too.

Anyway, we don't know if Tiger is miffed or just AWOL...or whatever. Don't let it bother you.

WINNING!!!

Did I miss something.

Sorry been busy and preoccupied by Modern War on my ipad.

Spent some time yesterday tearing down yet agin part of the liquid cooling system. Reloacated some radiators as they were overheating the house wall and i didn't want to set the wall on fire. Things are better now and mostly back togethere and i've got air cooled and some liquid cooled gpus back online. I don't think i'll finish conversions on the second unit before i go on vacation comming up in 2 weeks. Anyway one system is now running aain in what i hope are the final tests. I've only rebuilt it like 18 times since Turkey Day. This is the longest three day project i've every had. The second one will be easier.

Back to gaming.

ps, if anyone else plays modern war, i go by krunchin-keith in the game. sounds like a warrior name too. Join my alliance.

Winning .... just because I kan

It's that day of the week again: Monday

Roads are slick and icy. Only about 1" of the white stuff, but it was wet/heavy and not nice. Waited 'til after temps dropped below 30F before getting out the sn*w blower...it doesn't like wet sn*w! However, depending on the direction I went, that white stuff just came flying back as dust right on top of me. I ended up looking like a Frost Giant or something...just call me Frosty!

WINNING!!!

Yeah a couple years ago when I used my blower it was the same thing, I even had to take a couple of passes at it to get thru it all as it was just too tall! Electric blower ARE GREAT though aren't they!!! It is chilly here, down into the upper 20's, but it is supposed to be into the mid 60's tomorrow so no problems there! Then it is supposed to be in the mid to upper 50's all week with some rain here or there!!

OK, it's 46F here so you can keep right on winning...for now.

That tablet PC I bought last spring is now kaput. :-(

The manufacturer sent out a firmware update...kinda like Windows updates...and when it tried to reboot--it hung. And that's where it is now. All recovery procedures have failed. On power-up it displays the Viewsonic splash screen and just sits.

For w@^k today, I set-up my wife's tablet with the Touchdown Exchange software I need to connect to Outlook and I'll be using it for the time being. She got a Kindle Fire for Xmas, so she won't be needing hers. Since it hasn't been a full year since I bought mine, I'll try to get it replaced under warranty, but who knows...and how long will it take anyway?

Not a happy camper, and not...

For Mikey and anyone else interested.

Why i've not been here so much is i've been occupied with building our new company store. Powered by amazon. I put it online this morning even though i've got less than 1/3rd of the items done i want. try shop.meob.com or just meob.com and click the webstore link. In the webstore under specials is a "computer items" which will be leftovers i'm selling off, not much there yet but in the future I may put more junk in there. I still sell on amazon but eventually there will more items in our webstore that i can't list on amazon.

WINNING with a clear mind as there was nothing there to start with.

Unfortunately he is the number 2 man in the Republican Party for President right now! I think he will stay in until the bitter end as this is his last shot at anything meaningful, I think he will do a 'scorched earth' policy until it is over. Romney better stop making mistakes and 'look' more electable or he won't win either!! Romney needs more passion in his everyday talking and just seems so controlled and almost on autopilot to me! Gingrich will NOT win in Virginia, he isn't even on the ballot! And while right ins are allowed they are NOT counted, too many of us vote for Mickey Mouse etc.

Finally got ahold of the Support people for my tablet PC. They want me to send it in for 'repairs'. At least it will be under warranty. Can't offload any data, (they're going to wipe everything) but since I try to keep it all on the SD card anyway, I should be OK. Pulled the card out already so I don't accidentally send it in with the tablet. Gonna be a minimum 2-week turnaround.

At least they WILL fix it for you!!! But I do feel for you in this...my newest pc, the AMD FX-6100 is crashing and at times won't even boot! I have wiped the hard drive and reloaded Windows and after doing 103 updates, it crashed AGAIN!!! I put an AMD gpu in the machine to start with and then added another and it was crunching just fine until 1 day it wasn't! Now it is just constantly crashing, I am going to give it another try this morning with an Nvidia gpu and then probably take out the hard drive and see if that is the problem. I may check to see if their is an updated BIOS too, it uses the new UEFI BIOS. The new BIOS is strange and different but seems okay, you can use a mouse to move around in it. If I can make it run long enough I may run a ram tester too! Home built pc's are NOT always better, who do you call when it has funky problems?!

Heres something to check. Remember all those self reboots my machines HAD. Turned out the problem was the GPUS were not 100% straight in the slot. Since mine are in the machine horizontally to the bottom, they can "warp" as also the pwoer wires connect at that end and pull down on it so then somehow 1 of those miniscule contacts is not touching enough, just the one that makes it go poo. I had to add a support stick at the far end of the pcb, not the end with the socket and backplate that screws in. and then also add small supports in same area between the first one and the sceond one and the second and third. That machine has not poo'd itself since then. It was not the o/s, drivers, yada, yada, yada that everyone else recommends.

On a good note, I got a deposit in to my checking account last night from the US Treasury. Gotta now give some of that to the state, but there is some leftover !!! Goes towards that plane ticket.

Ut-Oh, time to start getting some things ready, less than 2 weeks to go. Neeed to start fiding my portable chargers and stuff. Dust out the suitcase.

ps, on the webstore, i know the items are mostly meaningless to you, but I also know you are a savy net shopper. Do you think the layout is okay and easy to use ? I tried to make it easy, but also with the pre-selected choices in the left side menu, make it so a consumer could quickly narrow choices and more easily find a particualr item, especially since i seem to attact a lot of "first-timers" and the word search is not in thier vocabulary. Also about 99% of orders I get are "1" piece orders. They want something specific. I hope though that as more orders come in through the store, the "specials" catagory will be of interest for bargins and bring some of them back for maybe those impulse buys.

I've still got a lot of work to do, but yesterday i added a dozen items that are not on amazon, becuase a lot of our products have no UPC code they can't be lsited on amazon. Also too since amaozn is a shared marketplace, sometimes lsitings look like poo since i don't have control over what it says. In my store I have full control and nothing is shared, so advange too is i'm also not helping out the competition on those items. As time goes on i expect more items will be in my store only, but i will still sell on amazon as it is a good way to advertise and bring customer in. I had 333 new customers in 2010, 821 in 2011 and already 81 this year. I get some repeat buys, i expect more this year than last. I've already had 2 repeat customers this year. Plus I added Alaska and Hawaii to my shipping choices and have been getting several orders for those states. In the past they have been a rather small portion of our sales, like 1 request every 6 months. So slowly i build our base and increase offerings.

TGIF and WINNING.

FX-6100, cant get that cpu to work at 5/6 cores malaria and 1 gpu work.
Works fine with 4/6 cores malaria and 1 gpu work,

Anyway my win.

Okay I am testing my own FX-6100 on Malaria, I just, literally JUST, put the machine here at Malaria. It seems I have a bad memory chip and after alot of testing WCG is down right now and I need to know if it will work. Here is my pc:
https://malariacontrol.net/show_host_detail.php?hostid=444626

I am starting with 6 cores and we will see what happens from here. It has downloaded units and 6 are running, I have 12gb of ram in the machine right now and an Nvidia gpu that is NOT crunching.

Keith I am testing I will check out the store and get back to you, I cruised it the other day and LIKED what you have done! I even checked the computer stuff for more cases!!!

Pay as much or as little as you wish.

The win will come when it's time is due...maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe next post!

But for now, I am...

WINNING!!!

The store setup is fairly easy, most of it is automatic. All i really had to do was assign the Catagories, then make up the "Tags" under each catagory and assign thsoe to items. some items have multiple tags so they appear on multiple pages. I do have to define each tag in the left menu and can position those in whatever order i choose, but that is a 1 time thing for each. when i add items and tag them, they automatically fit on the appropiate apge if i've used the same tag. i've only tagged about 400 of the 1700 items i have listed. some i won't tag, i don't have those any more and some are odd things when sold won't be available again. those i'll work on in spare time.

It was funny too. The default colors that came up, the red and gray, almost matched our store logo of red and black. So i left those and went with it. Filled in some text here and there. There are a lot of advanced things I can do, but i figured get the thing running first, attract some business, then think about the advanced things.

Anyway, on to good news. After a long 3 day weekend of work which stretched into 3 months, i've finally liquified my other super komputer. it's running now on only 1 liquified ati gpu. I'll probally liquify the two nvidia gtx570's tomorrow.

With all the heat sources off. the single ati in each runs now at 70C with a boinc load, versus 98C when they were air cooled. the liquid is around 40C.

I think though when i'm on vacation they will run 1 gpu so the room won't get too hot and not much chance of overheat. But when i get back i'll think about going back to full boinc power. Oh my poo RAC.

Gotta take a knap now, then dinner and then maybe some more testing to do.

Happy Super Bowl Day!

Maybe we'll get a WINNER today...if the score goes right.

Of course, if it doesn't we might be playing here somewhat longer eh?

Back online now with 6 liquid cooled gpu's. Finally after 2 months.

Now it is kold in my room, i might have to close the winderz. I'm not at the moment running any of the air kooled computers.

My gpus temps have dropped from the upper 90C's to 80C,75C,72C / 70C,62C,60C and without other heat sources the liquid is running 55C hot out of the gpus and 51C after kooling. When i had the other air cooled gpu's running, putting too muc hheat into the area, my liquid was hitting 70C. Hard to kool with hot air.

Well most of this project is now behind me. Next i'll have to figure out what pieces are left, i stole a bunch from future projects to make changes in the two i was building, i don't know what i used. I'm planning on converting the othre three systems to liquid cpu's/gpu's but i need first to figure out what i need and what i have left in parts. I'll do this in the spring. For now they stay off.

The temp in my room has dropped from the upper 80-90Fs to 59F over by the window.

I actually had to sleep with a blanket on last night for the first time again in 9 months.

WINNING

So Keith is the tank inside the house or outside? I know it gets hot in summer there but doesn't it get coolish this time of year? Maybe you could setup the tank with a long enough hose to make it do both depending on the time of year. That way now it could be outside and then when it gets too hot outside you could move it back in again. Maybe even a swinging type shelf or something...wait I know...a 'tank in a krate' that is on a swinging shelf! You could get a mini-krate and put the tank in it and depending on the weather swing it in or out. You would need to put an awning over the window though to keep the direct sun off the tank.

Crunching to a win

Crunching through the sn*w-pack more likely.

This morning the radio news finally said something about the unusual weather in GB. The report indicated that there could be up to three more weeks of below normal temps in store for you.

Meanwhile, the continental US has had one of the mildest winters ever recorded!

WINNING!!!

I LOVE it!!! The Giants won the Super Bowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually it is more like the Patriots LOST the Super Bowl, which is just as good for me!! I really didn't care who won as long as the Pats lost!! I am tired of the arrogant, smug bums thinking they are 'due' everything!

I am supposed to get the coldest weather of the whole winter coming this weekend, it will get down in the low 20's at night and only in the mid 30's during the day, then by midweek be back into the 50's again! No moisture though so no snow to speak of! Even the close ski slopes only have the man-made stuff!

My oldest son will get his PHD later on this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He already has accepted a job STARTING at 85k that is only 1/2 hour from his rental home.
His live-in girlfriend works there too, BASF. Now if i can just my younger son to graduate College and get a job too I will have LOTS more disposable income!!

WINNING!!!

The Tanks are inside the house, mounted on each "krate" post. Each unit has it's own tank, pump, controller, fluid loop, cooling radiators. I though of one for all, but if the liquid overheated and the controlelr shut shut down then the other one might not have kooling. I might be able to do a multiple shut down but decided separate systems was better.

I thought of a extra loop going over and past the window, or outside through a heat exchanger or radiator, then in summer remove it. But the units are so close to window it doesn't matter much. I still might try that as i have extra fittings, tubing, controller and radiator. see if it makes a difference. I have tanks with extra ports, make it so the extra loop pulls fluid out of the tank bottom, cools it and drops it abck in the top. the current loop pulls out the bottom and refills the top, so both would combine in the tank. Or else jsut tap into current loop and run it to window then back and onto whereever it goes. Would be fun experiment.

I actually now have the old vent that went out the bottom of the window as an intake, with a small fan sucking in cool air and hoses that vent it into two computers. The exhaust goes out the top of the window. Both vents go through custom made plates, so rain can't get in and then a security bar keeps the window from openeing any more, plus a book case shelf unit full of extra computer parts (very heavy) on the inside so it can't be tilted in. In the summer i'll turn that extra intake off and close off the vent. I may put in a small 6000btu a/c window unit, one that has louvered vents so i can angle all the cool toward the computers. I think i'll need it as a supplement, and on low it probally would add enough cool to help.

Gotta go w&*k calls, then more get ready to vacate stuff to do. I gotta figure out watering instructions for the plants to leave the roommate, nice thing to ahve as he watches the house and plants when i'm gone, and me his when he is away.

That doesn't sound like the routine over 50 up the rear tunnel exam, I hope all is okay John!!!

Keith I think the extra tubing out the window will work but you will have to be careful that you use the EXACT same fluids in both systems! Otherwise a small radiator in the original tank will be needed, to keep them separate. And remember those fluids have to be changed every few years, it could be up to 5 years now but it was once a year when it first started! If you get that window a/c unit you could duct it over towards the tank to keep it extra cool. If you are really creative and bored you could create your own tank with a hole in the side to let air in and then air tubes leading from it up to the top of the tank, that way the cool a/c air would keep the liquid extra cool.

WINNING!!!

I thought I saw a wabbitt, maybe he took your win and went back into his magic hat ?

Well finally not any major computer work to do. I have to think about some future upgrade on the other three systems, draw out my liquid systems and count parts left before i start ordering again, but this will wait until after vacation which I need to plan for today and start some packing.

I did find one of my dvd players on unit #2 is not working correctly, this is the one some liquid got into back whne i had the first leak. maybe it is just the cable connections ?

For now i'm going to relax, besides packing i need to cut my hair and to figure plant watering instructions for the roommate, gotta keep it simple, yet that is hard with the diversity, size and soils in the ones i got, each needs different care so i can't jsut say dump a cup of water on each.

Brrrr! Current temp is about 10-12F, headed (so they say) for 22F high. We got about 3" of sn*w overnight and I got to use the sn*wthrower for a decent depth of sn*w for once. This is the deepest we've had all season. ...trying very hard to put a positive spin on it!

BURRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

It's 34F outside. Last night a Nor'easter whipped in, boy there was a good amount of kold air forcing it's way in through the window only open 1 inch. The computers love it and the liquid temps are down from about 52C to 48C.

So anyway I went to finish my tasks for trip preparation, wanted to take a set of photos of all my rooms and the plants, for show 'n tell. Instead of using my smart phone with a digital camera I decided to try the ipad thingy. WOW, got some huge photos. There on the ipad and my icloud. I'll have to figure out how to attach one of my pc's to the icloud to retrieve them or I can jack the ipad in and just copy them off like it was a hdd onto my computer hdd. Got some great photos too of the kool komputers. At some point i'll uplaod some somewhere for ya'll to see.

So in my picture taking i had to go outside to snap some of the porch plants and the front of the house. I had to put on long pants, should have put on shoes too.

Can anyone tell me what these little white flakes of stuff are all over the place ? Not much, if I dusted the car off I could fill a shot glass. Not to mention the stairs were kind of frosted over too and the cement driveway, well BURRRR !!! I made it a quick photo shoot.

Got some hot koffee, i'm crawling back in bed.

YES John IT IS!!! It is 23F her and it flurried the white stuff overnight, not enough to leave much on the roads, just the edges have the white stuff and it will be gone as soon as the sun comes out. Keith there should be more cold stuff coming your way, at least one more days worth anyway. By Thursday here it is supposed to be in the mid 50's again, so just a short blast!

Keith I have a magazine with an ad in it it says a FREE 50gb of cloud data storage for anyone with an ipad, iphone or other IOS device. For the iphone just go to the app store and box.net/iphone

Randy I am glad to hear your snowblower worked, I tried to get my other neighbor to get one but he still thinks he is 20 and says he will keep on shoveling!

Well, my body finally persuaded me that I wasn't a youngster any more and the heavy sn*wfall last year was the last straw. Unfortunately, my ancient asphalt driveway is crumbling in various places and the sn*wblower is kicking that up along with the white stuff.

Next major project on the house: replace driveway--$$$$! Looks like I'll never get that electric car.

Not...

I got 5gb with the thing. Often with other offers, after a while there is a catch. I see how much space the photos took up, but i'm more likely to download them to my computer and remove them from the cloud. I don't really need them there.

I was just thinking as the day warms up. I don't water the outside plants as much, and yesterday when i was giving the roomy instructions said you don't need to worry about them, then i decided to skip them. Good thing since it turned freezing last night.

I'm in relax mode. Everything is msotly done for vacation. I've got lots of stuff pulled out, but not actually packed. I like to think about it a few days and will stuff it in the suitcase tuesday.

Well, got some reheated leftover pizza and i'm crawling back in bed to watch some more streaming video and back to gaming on the ipad, works great via wireless while i'm in bed and i put in a wall adapter and 6ft usb cable so i can keep it off-battery. got another cable at the desk here and one at work so most of the day it is on wall power, but it will run like 11 hours on battery. I use that mostly when i go to the kitchen, take it with me, can't miss any game time.

Randy I am glad to hear your snowblower worked, I tried to get my other neighbor to get one but he still thinks he is 20 and says he will keep on shoveling!

WINNING!!!

Not...

WINNING!!!

I have a concrete driveway and already replaced it once but will need to AGAIN before I sell the house! When they ran the water pipe originally they ran it under the, then unpoured, driveway and then failed to even think about compacting the ground. So there is a gap between the concrete and the ground, original driveway was busted up and put in the gap, more gravel etc was added new concrete poured and it has now cracked AGAIN!!! Yes they used both rebar AND that insulation stuff as stiffener stuff. No sagging just cracking, so it is okay for now!

WINNING!!!

Pictures, camera, genealogy, HAVE FUN!!!! Keith I have one suggestion for you while you are down there...get the family together and go to your mom's favorite type restaurant and have a remembering mom dinner! You KNOW she would have liked to have been there to see all of you guys together and it will be a good time, maybe the last, for everyone to get together and say 'it was fun'! Do NOT make the dinner a solemn thing, make it easy going, laid back and just enjoy each others company and have one toast to mom and then get back to learning about each others lives again.

We are heading for 50F, and winning handsomely

It is 6:15 AM and it is 43F right now, but this weekend I am supposed to get another dusting of snow! It will only be in the low 40's for a high on Sunday with some moisture in the air that could provide some snow. But at 40+ degrees and with the temps before and after Sunday in the mid 50's, the roads are waaay too warm for it to stick and it will all melt fast anyway!

My bad memory finally got to Kingston, my wife sent it by Fedex ground and it took more than a WEEK to get from the DC area to California!! They are sending it back to me and it should get it here today, that is 2 days to come back! Ground must mean bike messenger while they must be doing it air on the return shipping! It means I can finally get my 2nd X6 pc fully up and running and hopefully take the next step in my RAC! The pc is running now on 8gb of ram but really needs the other 8gb to 'breathe'! I will also add in the gpu to the crunching when the ram gets here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEITH!!!
Think long term Keith..one day you won't be able to do that for 'dad'!! And besides he is asking you to do things he either can't or won't do himself but that do need doing, and that too is a good thing!

Last night my WCG project FINALLY passed my Seti stats!! WOO HOO!!! Both were done with pure cpu power and both took a VERY long time, for me! I have one more goal on WCG still but some of my cpu's are already over at Rosetta now. Oh and I ordered a brand new, for me, gpu, I ordered a Geforce 560 ti. It was under 200 bucks after rebate and I do not currently have an Nvidia type card crunching.

Tuesday is not going to be a very good day. It starts out with mixed rain and sn*w, then turns to all rain. Good because there will not be any accumulation, but bad because we're already too soggy.

Sometimes it feels that way. I managed to get an enourmous amout of personal stuff done yesterday, unfortuantely now I have to go back to reality and at %^&* catching up will not be as easy, there goes my stress level from 1 back to 100.

Bad news and good news on the weather front this morning.

Bad news: sn*w was way too wet for the sn*wblower to handle. Had to shovel.
Good news: only an inch or less on the driveway (at 5:00am anyway) and what's still coming down is mostly mist or drizzle anyway.

Ahhh, A normal day again. After struggling for two days at bleep, I ffinally got through all the mess left on my desk. Actually all that was on my desk was done on Thursday, including new jobs and whatever I needed to do for my own tasks, plus in the morning I first did updates on 4 computers, windows and some nvidia drivers and then I had some backups to deal with and after doing all those things, ran out of stuff to do before 4pm. Friday I had another small pile of paperstuff to do that the boss man didn't givbe me thursday, maybe it was lost on his desk unders tons of papers. That too dissapeared quickly.

I even got 1 internet order for friday morning. Another one so far already lined up for next week, doesn't take long for those shoppers to start up again. I didn't put the store online until at the end of the day Thursday, after I though I was all caught up and made any manual adjsutments to inventory for items sold while i was away. There were not too many adjustments in that reguards because a better protion of the items i'm selling off don't walk out the front door on a daily basis.

Now on to the weather, it was nice, even hot here the last two days. It felt like I was still in Florida, maybe some Florida air got stuck in my suitcase and escaped when i got home. But last night the weather turned rainy and cold again, back into the 50F's. I actually loved it as I opened the windows to vent heat out and slept with a blanket on, for like the second day this year.

Today i have a little more email to sift through, then maybe some extra plant care. Rommie didn't do too bad at watering this year. Even somehow a new bell pepper came up, so I have one more plant than when i left, that usually doesn't happen.

I'm gonna start some more seeds for maybe some lettuce, basil and mini tomatoes. Then from Florida I brought back a hand full of Kumkwat seeds i picked out of Kumkwats at dad's house, yes ones laying in the yard, not store bought.

My oldest brother, also a gardening type person, introduced me to Tamarind. I guess. I have one of those to eat and it has some seeds in it, i'm gonna try to grow a tree from those too.

Although I'm not sure where in the yard I would want a Kumkwat or Tamarind tree ? I'll start in pots as it will take a while for them to get big. Maybe by then i might have decided to move to my own house ?

Between this game and Powerball, I'm WINNING at one of them.

send me my share of powerball winnings when you win

I hope that is the same storm you sent thru North Carolina last night! I am in Durham, NC watching my oldest son get his PHD yesterday!! Right in the middle of his talk all the cell phones went off, the 'committee members', telling eveyone there was a tornado warning here! It got dark and stormy then got lighter and was just windy and rainy. My son essily got his PHD nd will now go to work, at the end of next month, for BASF, the chemical co, STARTING at 85k per year!!

Randy that is one thing I dislike about the blower, the inability ot handle the very wet stuff. But at only 1 inch you could have used a squeege, my neighbor does that every hour during the big storms. I hope you back is okay and isn't sufferring too badly!!

Might have been. I don't know if we had warnings or not, who cares, let it blow all the tourons away.

We did have very nasty wind. It blew so hard it tore my flag down, the pole is ok but it ripped the mount off the post, pulling 2 of 3 3 inch screws out. Gotta repair that now. At least the mount, pole and flag are undammaged. Screws can be replaced easily and cheaply.

I enjoyed time with dad. Previously he had been thinking of moving to Williamsburg Virginia, to Patriots Colony, an assisted living community. Mom didn't want go so much. But now she is gone, he is considering it again and we tried to suggest we would visit more often if he did as an incentive. That would put him at about 3 hour drive from here, much better than 13 hours or 2 hours to the airport plus parking, tickets, security scans and all that mess. He would be an hour from 2 other of his sons and maybe 3-4 from the other living in PA. I certainly would make more weekend visits, more than 1 visit a year. Plus most likely i could get the brothers to all show up more at the same time, like a bunch of mini family re-unions. Even all of their kids and grandkids are within the same radius so they might show up once and a while too.

Already started my spring planting, way ahead of my normal schedule.

Indoors at this point but there is lettuce growing outside already and the clover never totally died off, nor some other weed plant. I didn't plant the lettuce, those are droppings in the pots from last years crop. They started on thier own.

Before I left on vacation I put down 8 pots full of seeds. Roomy did good on watering some, others got flooded and nothing left, but no worries as that was 1/100th of my seed supply and so what if he killed 250 plants, I got lots more.

I did have a pot full of basil survive, maybe 24 in it and they are 1/2 inch tall now. I also got about 8 mini tomato plants and those are 3-6 inches already. Plus by luck 1 bell pepper started growing in the old pots.

So today I put down another 1000 seeds. I did 3 batches of bell peppers, 1 pot from some dried up peppers still hanging on the plants, they look like rasiins only red and as big as your thumb. 1 pot from an old pepper kept in the frig and then a pot from seeds from 2009 maybe or before, in an undated bag. I dated them after that. Also I put more tomato seeds in, those too from old tomatoes kept in the frig over the winter. Then more lettuce, basil, oleander trees, and 3 kumkwat tree seeds.

Sometime soon i'll try some watermelons and oh yeah, those red hot peppers.

In the real spring i'm gonna take the 8 pots of pepper plants and transplant them to the ground, everything but the pot. That soil is 3 years old and they did not do to well last year, but some of them are still greenish, so they will survive till spring. Then, i refill all the pots with other old soil, topped off with a couple inches of new soil and if any of the seeds i'm trying to start i'll transpalnt to the old pots and then maybe thow in more seeds. It's not uncommon for me to have at least 48 plants.

Now i'm all done for the day, and as it it is past X:30, time to start...

...and...WINNING !!!

Things are about to start popping over at E@H with this computer. I just upgraded the video card from a GT 9500 to a GT 545. That's going from 32 cuda processors to 144 of them puppies! The 9500 will replace a 9400 on a different machine.

WINNING!!!

[edit]The card was $109.99 + tax at Microcenter, with a $30 rebate. Not bad for a fairly low-end gpu card.[/edit]
[edit2]Wowsers! Runtime for a E@H cuda unit went from ~3 hrs down to just over 1 hr! Gee, it would sure be nice if MCN had cuda WUs...[/edit2]

I have ALL of my pc's running at this moment and they have been for at least a week now!!! I do have to turn off a pc or two this week though so I need to find a GOOD Nvidia points paying project. I thought gpugrid would do it, and it is giving me about 27k per day, but I think it should be higher than that! I have a gtx 560 ti and only have a rac of a little over 27k, I am doing 2 to 3 units per day, getting 35k credits per unit and still I only have a rac of 27k!! I need to turn off 1 or 2 pc's with an AMD 5770 in each one, that is 160k rac per day for each pc, that is a big hit for me!!

WINNING!!!

This is one of my favorite parts of the year. My tax man has all my info, I know I'm getting a big refund. The suspense...

Hmmm. Big refund = big interest free loan to government. Best option is to adjust W4 to keep refund to a minimum, but not owe a bunch in April. (Not always possible I know).

Not for me, it's better this way. The loss of 0.1% interest is irrelevant. Is use the refund to pay my skyrocketing property taxes and insurance up front for the next year.

I guess that's a mixed blessing. My property assessment has dropped in each of the last three years, meaning LOWER property taxes. It also means that my house is now assessed at ~40% of its pre-crash value. Can you say "underwater"? I just hope it goes back up before I retire in another 10-12 years so I can sell it and get some cash out.

WINNING!!!

[edit]Have a good night John. No winner yet, but not too far off.[/edit]

That means I have a chance of winning, as I am awake early?

Everybody has a CHANCE of winning (except me...), but only one will.

ACTUALLY Randy the rules you setup say, and I quote:
"Rules Subject to change at moderators discretion without notice

The winner will be the last person that posted, when I have time to check the thread, after one of these events:"

As I told the guys on MW where I started the game, I COULD just declare myself the winner and then start a new game! Now I don't know what the whole point would be but that isn't the point, I COULD do it, as could you!

WINNING!!!

WINNING!!!

How is noone going to win if noone doesn't post ?

ps, my other nickname is noone as when people walk in they ask if if anybody is here, I just tell them noone is here and since i'm the only person i must be noone,

It's too busy here, and when our deadest month is too busy, that means the summer will be dawg nuts. Nice to have good business but sometimes enough is enough.

Ahyhoo, despite closing the internet store for 10 days this month, which means I should only have 66% of the sale quatta, i hit 89% and this february was about 3 times as much as last february and 1.5 time the prior year. That's great. So today i ordered a bunch of stuff i'm out of in getting ready for the spring rush. As soon as i get a confirmation, i'll start posting the items abck in the store as "pre-order" status, hoping to sell a bunch by the time they get here. I'm trying to get the bossman to order some other stuff, in quantity so we can get free delivery which makes us more but also those items are popualr and since it is tax-refund time people might have extra money to spend, we should cash in on that.

back to lunch, then taht W stuff.
