Found a Windows error reporting window this morning. Said malariacontrol had encountered an error. BOINC version 5.2.13. Windows XP Home. AMD 2000+ 1GB RAM.

Try upgrading to the newest version of Boinc, 5.10.30. Don\'t know if it will help but they have made changes that may have affected your computer. You are currently running 5.10.20 which is not that old, but it won\'t hurt.

I don\'t think an upgrade of BOINC will help on that, as it is a Windows error that does that. Perhaps telling Windows not to reboot on application errors? Albeit, I\'ve never seen Windows tell me that it needed to reboot on an application error.

Can you go into Event Viewer and give the Event ID and description on that error?

Having just had a program crash in my Windows, are you sure it doesn\'t say \"<program name> has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will have to restart the program.\" ??

You should be running version 5.55 according to the applications list.

Try a project reset.
Note you will loose any MalariaControl work in progress and any unreported results. It would be best to set no new work, then manually update to clear any unreported results first.

I have a P4 with HT that exhibits this behaviour every time it restarts after an unexpected loss of power. Only one of the two tasks crashes, the other continues merrily crunching. Have no idea what causes it, but my point is that it is specific to this one machine. Other HT machines attached to this project with same OS and BOINC version do not exhibit this behaviour.
