I somehow have managed to create two accounts with Hi chukka Welcome to the project. You can\'t delete the second account and as long as you don\'t attach any computers to it, it will serve no useful purpose. Don\'t worry too much about it. Happy crunching. :) |

I have the same problem, but both accounts have credits. I\'ve tried to uninstall and reinstall on the computer that is on it\'s own account. I figured when I reinstall, and re-log on to malaria, it will pick up the other account, but it keeps picking up the account number which this computer originally had. Is there a way to register a computer with a different acount? |

The easiest way would be to set to \"no new work\", crunch the remaining WUs and then detach the computer with the unwanted account from the project. |

I figured when I reinstall, and re-log on to malaria, it will pick up the other account, but it keeps picking up the account number which this computer originally had. Is there a way to register a computer with a different acount? There\'s a few different ways to do this: As mentioned by Ananas, one way is to transfer the account_www.malariacontrol.net.xml file between systems. Another way would be to change the email address on the account that you don\'t want and then use the email address for the one that you do want when re-attaching. (I\'m assuming you\'re using the same email address for both accounts, otherwise you shouldn\'t have this problem...) There\'s yet another way involving using the account code and attaching from the command line. Which option is suitable for you will depend on which BOINC client you\'re using and your level of technical expertise. Which BOINC client and which operating system are you using? |

Thank you for the replies. I was able to get the computer on to the account that has all of the rest of my computers. I noticed that results were showing up when logging in from one of the other computers. When checking my account from the \"Your Account\" button on the advanced view from the problem computer, it still logs in to the old account number. I have tried to uninstall, delete the C:\\Program Files\\BOINC directory and reinstall, but it seems that this account is stored somewhere else on the computer. |

I just figured this out. After clearing all of my IE caches, I hit \"Your Account\", and was this time prompted for my login information again. It is looking at the proper account after logging in. |

I just figured this out. After clearing all of my IE caches, I hit \"Your Account\", and was this time prompted for my login information again. It is looking at the proper account after logging in. When logging in to the malariacontrol.net website, you will notice that there is the option to \'remember me\', which allows you to go directly to your personal account details without having to log in each time. This feature is achieved by storing a small file on your computer that is accessible to the browser, called a cookie. Clearing the IE cache removes this and that is why you were prompted for login information. To cancel the \'remember me\' option without clearing the IE cache, simply click on log out on your account page. Also, I forgot to respond to the questions- Thanks, but as long as you got it working, then these aren\'t so important. :) |

I have doen the same thing. An added wrinkle it that the other account is the one I created my team with. I must have typed the e-mail address incorrectly, because I can\'t seem to log into the other account, the one that is founder of my team. Is there a way to merge these two accounts? |

I must have typed the e-mail address incorrectly, because I can\'t seem to log into the other account, the one that is founder of my team. Is there a way to merge these two accounts? No this is about Science and merging would invalidate all of your work, not a good thing. As Team Founder you do have certain rights that the rest of us don\'t have, you might contact the Admins about your particular email problems. As for the \'other\' account, just attach it to your Team and you will benefit from any credits it crunches from here on. Your personal account will always show the credits it got while crunching under your name. Team credits only accrue when the computer is actually attached to the Team. Soooo if I came to your Team you would not get any of my old credits, just any new ones since I have attached. ____________ |
