I think you need to extend your deadlines a bit. I just got a 52h 47m task due in 3 days!

Overall, the 3-day deadlines have skewed my task percentages because they are so much shorter than other projects that the scheduler consistently pushes them to the front & runs more than I have allocated to this project.

The task is an opt one and will complete in maximum 3 hours, so no need for panic at this point. Although, having said that, the huge difference between actual and estimated time to completion is a problem and will interfere with your work scheduling.

To the project and community: Since these wu\'s have a known maximum time to completion, would it be possible to specify a maximum to the client, instead of the client calculating it and thereby getting it so wrong?

hi,
specifying a maximum would require changes on the boinc-client side, so there is not much we can do there. The next version of optimizer will however have pretty much exact durations of 2 hours, for all workunits. This will solve this problem. Since the now \"short\" workunits are usually the ones where we would like to have a more precise result, and the ones which are so long don\'t need to very precise, we figured out a way to change the app such that it would give us everywhere the precision we need and so make better use of calculation time.. and at the same time it will have a much more constant duration and solve this correction-factor problem. But we still have a validator-problem to sort out, that ensues.. new version will be out next week I hope..

If you think the current optimizer app messes up your correction factor too much, feel free to opt out until the new version is out.
cheers
Michael

In addition to the numbers being just flat wrong, you could also cut the cache down for MalariaControl. That would solve some of the problem, but force you to connect more often to keep it full.
