Hi,
I'm running MC on a Q6600 3gb mem Vista home. Started getting a problem with stdout.txt filling up with Java garbage 'till it fills up entire HD - Updated Boinc Ver to latest and also updated Java.

Looks like this -

Maximum number of iterations were exceeded in Stat.incompleteGammaFract().
Current value returned.
Increment - 1 = NaN.
Tolerance = 1.0E-8

Any ideas?

Yes it is the new OPT units causing the problems, I looked in your tasks it is the quad core 6600 pc that is seeing this problem. The OPT units are not normal Boinc units, they run very differently and are kind of hodge-podged together to run under Boinc. You can opt-out under the Your Account settings on the web page, or you can just continue on helping to debug the process. There is more discussion here:

and here https://malariacontrol.net/forum_thread.php?id=781

That last one is the main one and is being responded to by the Admins pretty regularly.

Having had the same problem over the weekend I was pleased to see practical advice being offered in the threads referred to earlier in this thread. Now I know what to do to stop stdout.txt growing to 65GB and running my C: drive out of space ;-)

Kindest regards

John
